Plenty of pictures around of this car so I thought I’d post a picture of one the looks very similar

In a nutshell, the C8 looks amazing, kudos to the Corvette team for pulling off this feat of complete platform re-engineering. I just hope it rides and drives as well as they’re saying since test drives are unlikely anytime soon. I was concerned about the look of the added rear length, especially since fitting in a rear trunk was a design requirement and might have resulted in compromises. However since the wheelbase is so long with the rear tires far back as determined by the transaxle position, the proportions seem to work out fine. The Audi R8 uses their side “blades” to break this up and corvette has its enormous side scoop with contrasting trim. I’m still undecided if I like the Z51 wing – then again I’m not getting Z51 so problem solved for me! Depending on pricing, I may go for the carbon fiber interior trim and GT2 seats with the carbon fiber trim, but the GT1 seats on display appeared to have identical padding to GT2 and the “nappa” leather upgrade wasn’t that obvious also. I may stick with GT1 and the standard satin silver trim which matches all of the other areas that can’t be changed from silver. The fancy stitched leather covered mouse over the mode select knob is kind of odd - I figured it would rock down to select a function but apparently it is just a hand rest! The ride height of the Z51 car looked pretty high so I hope the base suspension cars don't ride any higher.
No real new info to report, but I was told non-Z51 cars will also get the Z-mode steering wheel button and early Z51 cars will be forced to include mag-ride option. Never been sold on mag ride since those metal particles in the shock fluid wear out the seals and they all eventually fail (but that's just my opinion).
Chevy may just show everyone once and for all that paying more than corvette prices just buys you a very expensive badge!
