Use of Carbon Fiber in Various Options

I’m still a little fuzzy about Carbon Fiber and what can come in “Visible Carbon Fiber” or “Carbon Flash Metallic-Painted”. Also, what is included in the option code “5VM”. Thanks in advance.


5VM - LPO, Visible Carbon Fiber Ground Effects, Genuine Corvette Accessory
1 - Requires 5ZU, 5ZZ or Z51. Not available with 5V7, 5W8, S6S, SJI, STI, R8C.

STI - LPO, Composite rockers, molded in color, Genuine Corvette Accessory

The carbon fiber ground effects pakage, I think, is side skirts and a different splitter. It can only be ordered with the Z51, or if you order the high wing.

I can't find 5v7, 5w8, s6s, or SJI, so not sure what those limitations are. R*C is museum delivery, so if you want to do that you'd need to order 5VM separately through your dealer parts department and have them install it.

STI are body color rocker panels (smaller than the side skirts), in body color, to match the paint on your car. You can have both the small side skirts and the large ones in the ground effects package at the same time.

If you go to the visualizer, you can get an idea of what the ground effects look like by selecting Exterior Accents, then Accessory Ground Effects and Side Rocker in Carbon Fiber

You can see STI, I think, by choosing Side Rocker in Black. All will be easiest to see on a white car.

I asked “Concierge Austin” and he stated that 5VM includes three visible carbon fiber components: the front splitter, the extended side rockers (what we called skirts re the C7), and the front grill outside corners (vertical pieces).

Since we have seen the front splitter in the accessory book in vis CF and no other way to get it, to me I am comfortable that the visible CF splitter is one of the components of 5VM.

Will I be triple confirming that the remaining two are also part of that option when at the NCM 25th, you can count on it (already on my NCM Ask List).
