  • Carbon Fiber vs Satin Mode Switch Base?

I've seen two different bases under the MODE switch. The satin chrome which I assume is the base 1LT.

And the carbon fiber base which is on the Z51's on tour.

Can anyone confirm this is correct. I am getting the black interior base 1LT and prefer the satin chrome.

If you believe the build site and visualizer, satin chrome is standard for all trim levels.

You need to select the carbon fiber interior package to get those carbon bits.

I hope the satin metal is standard ... I personally do not like exposed carbon fiber (I deal with it as a structural material every day and its great for that purpose but I find no aesthetic value in it). Happy it's offered for those who like it.

The metal is standard. The only interior visible carbon fiber is if one selects option “FA5“ which includes a beautiful VCF around the driver’s IP and also door switch surround plates.

With a Black interior the Stock Satin Chrome looks better. The Carbon gets buried in a Black interior.

The carbon fiber in the photo just doesn’t Pop! Better in person? Looks like it needs more clear coat.....

Corvette visible CF pops in the sunshine — has plenty of gloss clear on it. However, if anyone is concerned, ask yourself this question, how many times does that exact section of the center console in direct sunshine.

Option FAY (the vis CF console on the C7 was $995. I am guessing that option FA5 will cost $1,195 on the C8 because it add three more, admittedly smaller pieces. Option FA5 will be a box checked off on ours.

At that price, I will do without. The visible carbon fiber makes me worry about how much the GT2 seats are going to cost.
