      That is a very interesting idea, but what it there are no surrounding support covers (the entire parts of the vis CF, including those four indented rectangles that stick out to the right and left)? What if that pretty good sized covers only come from GM as part of the appearance package (not withstanding aftermarket later), and the car without them is as pictured above, just two aluminum diagonal braces — and of course the engine cover.

      What would you hydro dip?

        I have a feeling those panels are part of the engineering for engine cooling, keeping air flow moving over the exhaust and out the vents in the back, and will be there on all models (just not CF). But if not, as you suggest, the aftermarket will have removed, measured, and duplicated the CF ones within months, in all sorts of colors and finishes.

        Personally, if the standard one came without covers and exposed the aluminum rails, I'd leave it that way.
