  • A 1LT Visualizer observation

So I was playing around on the visualizer (mostly trying to figure out rockers, but that's another thread) and I noticed when I changed the interior color to red on 1LT it's on the seats only and not the center console and the doors, which is fine. I turned the view around and it showed the red stripe at the center top of the steering wheel which is cool by me. Then I changed it to the light gray interior and the steering wheel was all black, I didn't get a gray stripe at the top of the wheel. No big deal, but an observation for those who are ordering 1LT.

Same is true for 2LT and 3LT. The light gray is the odd one out.

The visualizer is wacked...i don't believe with 1LT you will receive that stripe on the steering wheel.

good questions though and thank you for all your fine efforts in discovery.

Oh, good to know, I didn't check them because I'm too cheap.

I know it's been discussed over the years, but is Mulan leather OK or is it garbage?

          mulan leather...

its not bad as my coats, jackets, shirts and pants never complained...

is it soft supple leather like a person might have on the couches in their homes? absolutely not...

its like the lowest grade real leather that can be called leather...

you can find out yourself by just sitting in any 1LT corvette preferably the c7 generation.

no one is ever going to say OMG this leather is so soft and luxurious yet at the same time its not going to feel like a vinyl seat cover either.

i belueve the visializer is off with that red or wjatever other color stripe was mentioned on a 1LT interior.

i could be wrong but Id guess and its just a guess...with 1LT when you change the color ......it changes the color of the seat and thats it.

i could ge wrong so if I am please excuse me.

I wonder if that's an error in the visualizer. There have been others. I don't know why they'd put the color stripe on for every other color (in the 2 and 3LT packages) but not the gray. And the visualizer does show a red stripe for the 1LT, which might also be inaccurate. Originally it showed two-tone seats if you selected red in the 1LT.

I was originally just going to get GT1 seats vs the GT2 to cut costs but after feeling them, the GT2 is noticably softer....GT1 felt cheaper and less comfy...After hating the cheap leather in my Infiniti I think I may spend more for GT2....this is all getting expensive though lol

I think it looks fine on my C7. No one has ever complained, or even commented on it. Heck, all the leather is coated in plastic anyway.

We notice that every steering wheel is 99% black, for that is, DUH, such a handled place, and everything will slightly show minute wear with continued use. We do not put our hands on the top of the steering wheel, percentagewise, that often, but even so, maybe having the white (I mean Sky Cool) stripe on the top of the steering wheel was deemed inadvisable???

Might not be a visualizer mistake at all.

GM said, and its extensive durability tests in developing the C7 (thousands of hours), proved that the Mulan wears just like the Napa, though acknowledging that the Napa “feels softer.”

Thanks John, I'm way good with it not being as soft, but still durable. I have never had leather as supple as in my AMG, it felt like butter.

Heh-heh, that's the problem (or maybe the genius) of releasing the Visualizer before we have pricing. We can dream big and ignore the wallet.

May be wrong but soft leather always seemed more “fussy” to me. Easier to damage. Harder to take care of.

Basically the higher end leather is already broken in.
