  • If You Have Sat in the C8 Driver's Seat: Tell What You Think

    I have experienced a-sit-in-it.

    1. Feels like $120K car. [ NSX, R8, 570S to me felt like 110K$]
    2. More leg and head room that C7.
    3. Fighter jet impression.
    4. Feels dedicated to purpose. Substantial material fees. Has a unique interior design all its own. In an identity creating way.
    5. Expansive front vision and the rear engine bey view is entertaining and exotic.

    6. Looks Longer than C7. Looks like it was designed to give comfort, practicality, convenience. Grand Tour Car.
    7. Looks Wider than C7.
    8. Sitting in the thing makes 60K$ hard to believe. Like where have you been hiding while we were being cheated and bludgeoned super-priced-ME cars.
    9. Beautiful car.

    10. Cant wait for the test comparisons and to actually drive it myself.
    11. Anticipate that the Z06 [ or whatever } will be surprising and off the charts.

Hello Sheepdog, Did you sit in the GT1 or GT2 or Competition Seat? Or have you sat in all 3? What Trim levels have you sat in? Was it the 1LT, 2LT or 3 LT trim level? Thanks

I did not look to see what seat. Just a great seat. Which ever one it was. Looking over my shoulder at the engine Freached me out. Unreal. It's not a Porsche. Nor Ferrari. Nor McLaren. It is its own thing, ME. Its obvious that they looked at the others. But it stands on its own. Pretty. Shinny. Strong looking and feeling. Same one that was in Atlantic City. was at Chevy Dealer up in Pennsylvania in a small town off US Rout 81. Today. They had it in the show room not many people were there as it was very crowded in Atlantic and the people were very pushy and in-the-way at AC. Up in Pennsylvania a different sort of reserved and tense souls. Did not bother with pictures today. Just sat in it and enjoyed. Got the pictures before and a few are from this cite.

Did you notice if it was a 2LT or 3LT? If it had a suede steering wheel, it was a 3LT. And if it's a 3LT, it had the GT2 seats, not GT1.

Please, no one get a comp seat unless you are at the track a heck of a lot of the time. Not just the seat “wear-avoidance patches” but also the extra firm padding, and even more than the C7’s Comp seats, the bolster stick out further on both the seat back and the seat cushion. In short what GM has done is to create a much better seat for those who are tracking their Corvettes.

And good for GM for creating the great, super comfortable, visible CF GT2 seats. So nice to now have three options. Well done GM!

To your point, can you get the suede steering wheel without suede/3LT option? I don’t like the red stripe in the middle of the leather steering wheel at all

John posted last night that there would be no list.

The best we can do is update this thread as locations become known. https://www.midenginecorvetteforum.c...tour-locations

Well that's odd. In the Visualizer if you have the Competition seat and select the Performance Textile option, you are forced to the 1LT trim. Therefore, no camera mirror and no available front end lift.

Seems odd. I might want the seat for better autocross or lapping performance, but hey, I drive the car on the street too. Those 2 features above would be annoying to lose.

                        Per the ordering guide:
                        N26 Steering wheel, sueded microfiber-wrapped
1 - Requires (HTJ) Jet Black interior.
2 - Requires leather seating surfaces with perforated sueded microfiber inserts interior: HTP, HU6, HU7, HTQ.
3 - Requires leather seating surfaces with perforated sueded microfiber inserts interiors: HTT, HU9, HUA, HTG, HUF, HMO, HVT, HXO, HZP.
                        A1 A2 A3
So you can get it in the 1LT with the Jet Black interior only. And in the 2LT if you opt for suede seating inserts, which require the GT2 seats (according to the visualizer).

But the color stripe on the steering wheel seems to be related to interior color, not the trim level. If you get the 3LT in black interior, it shows a black stripe, but in any other color a colored stripe. And the visualizer doesn't show the suede wheel on the 2LT, so it's hard to predict exactly what you'll get with that option. Maybe a call to a concierge, or a conversation with your dealer?

We have a separate thread on an upcoming announced track package, so what I think what is occurring, and again the Order Guide is more to be considered than accurate than the visualizer, is that as in a featured slider thread of an upcoming official announcement of a “track package,” if one gets the track pack, it will only have the Comp Seat completely covered with “Performance Textile.” If one choose the Comp seat but not the track pack, all Comp seats will come with the four anti-wear patches.

To the OP, I agree with your list completely and would add......
                              • The front trunk was WAY deeper than I anticipated. The rear trunk was pretty large as well.
                              • The car had GT2 seats, which felt more "wrap around" than I was expecting. Loved the feeling.
                              • I thought the short front end would feel shorter from sitting in the driver's seat ( 4 different times). Although the seat was all the way back. Perhaps when slid forward to fit me, it would seem shorter in the nose.
                              • Cup holders were much deeper, so it looks like no more flying water bottles on acceleration
                              • WISH you could get RED paddle shifters..... does anyone know anything about how to order them, as I can't find it anywhere?
