It is a shame, for there are more than several great YT’s who are helpful to the Corvette community. I really like Jason Fenske Engineering Explain, Eric at RevMatch TV, Doug DeMero and about ten others (sorry others I am tired and it is late); these are good people who inform.

However, just like Mike Furman being called a “car salesman,” and we know what conversely some of the worst one of them are like, Mike stands out; he too like the verygood YT professionals, have to swim against a stream of negative sterotype colleagues in their field.

The amount of clickbait youtubers is insane for cars. Right next to self-exposers/vloggers, who don't give you any relevant informations but film themself sitting in their car or garage and just talking for 10+ minutes (always beating the 10 minute mark to be able to add ads in the video!). But some of these channels have hundred thousands on each their videos, so it seems like a lot of people enjoy these formats.

I think some people don't understand that creating a successfull channel means creating good content for years over years with mininum revenue hoping to getting a growing viewership until the channel outgrows being a hobby. That's why I really like to watch channels like Doug DeMuro or Matt Maran Motoring, because I follow them for so many years now and it's great to see how far they have come and that they stayed true to their format.

Clickbait may bring you short term views if it's about a popular topic. But you can't build on that.

Like a car salesman who's dealership has taken more deposits than cars sold in 2018 and telling you their allotment was twice as many cars as they sold in 2018.
