    I'm cheap and as such getting a 1LT car which is fine, but I can't get front end lift option. I know it's because you need NAV for the GPS and all that. What about a stripper version that just has the lift function, driver required to perform the operation every time. I don't care about 1,000 locations to automatically do it for me, I'm good with operating it when needed. So it isn't fully featured, anybody getting 1LT probably wouldn't care anyway. Just a thought since there is zero development behind it as all the parts are already done.

    Do we know the mechanics of the lift system yet? Maybe aftermarket will develop. Some are saying it’s too slow and doesn’t lift enough.

      I don't think that's the only reason why GM made the choice about requiring the 2LT for E60.

      After all, on the base 1LT you can upgrade to the IOT audio system which includes nav. So in theory they could have that as a prerequisite, i.e. with 1LT to get E60 you need to add IOT too. So either there's other functional reasons why it's tied to the 2LT trim, or GM just wanted to use it as way to differentiate the trims and encourage you to upgrade.

        May well be something that they can and will offer if enough people want, request it.
        Do we know the cost of it yet?

          We do not yet know the cost for E60 lift system; we will learn all option pricing in 19 more days, e.g. Aug. 15th. Might GM in year two or three come out with the additional 1LT option choices such as it did with the C7 when C-C brakes were not separately order-able at the beginning, but became available the following year?

          Z06 coming late this summer: Hypersonic Gray HTC, two tone blue interior, complete high wing/aero package. CCB’s, with every piece of visible carbon fiber available to us. Lifetime, annual contributors, and 24 year members of National Corvette Museum. Home is the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

            Check out iLift's system. They even have a Chevy badge on their website, but no specific product listed for any Chevy...yet!

            About $3K for a manual front lift system, with a claimed weight of 16 pounds.

            Something to consider - If you only plan to keep your C8 a few years then it'd probably be easier to sell used if it's a 2LT with the factory lift, and you might take less of a depreciation hit.

              Lot of emphasis on this lift system and I was VERY interested to have it as I thought the C8 was going to be lower than the C7 . Since the clearance is the same those that have gotten by in the C7 can get by with the C8 without it. As far as resale. If one is planning to upgrade later to a Z model or concerned about resale an options overall the best choice would be a 1LT with Z51 keeping their option list low. Proportionally looking at C7 auction reports the Z51 is BY FAR the best resale option. The 2LT not so much and if the 2LT is priced at 10K as most predict and the Z51 is priced at around 5K with Z51 cars recapturing all the initial money the option cost originally and the 2 LT capturing about 50% or less of the original cost . The Z51 would be the better choice for resale. My numbers are based on MMR of actual sales at Manheims Dealer auctions nationwide.

                I like this system. I think it “may be “more driver friendly. Since we don’t have full info of the GM system options.

                But I lift can lift the entire car. Which I think is better. Don’t wanna turn your car into a seesaw being able to get the front over a speedbump and then balancing in the middle of the car ! Unable to move !

                as I’ve said before, I think a system like this that can be engaged at all times under 25 miles an hour would be preferable and to have it raise up under 25 miles an hour automatically would make it much more intuitive and easy to use and also better for parking and getting in and out of the car being not quite as low.

                Can this system be driven raised up all the time?

                  The C8, though, does appear to have a longer front overhang, so on a slope (e.g., a driveway apron), the front end will be lower than the C7 coming down the same ramp.

                    Good questions and already on my NCM 25th “ask list.”

                      Living with unpaved roads and sharp transitional inclines, my ideal system would lift both ends of the car by 4 inches or so, be completely controlled manually, no GPS necessary, and allow the car to be driven in the lifted position up to 40 mph until turned off.
