  • C8 brake pads.........

    One of the first mods I did on my C7 was to swap out the factory brake pads for after market PowerStop pads. The dust produced by the factory pads was driving me crazy.

    I noticed no difference in performance for my type of driving. The dust problem was almost completely eliminated.

    I'm wondering if the C8 will have improved in this area.

    A concurring vote of approval for the Power Stop Z26 brake pads. On my next Corvette, will change them out immediately. Got mine at a good price at Rock Auto

      i too replaced my factory ones with Powerstop pad (and did that for a friend’s Z51 and his Z06 too). All of us think we reduced brake dust by about 80% — maybe more. Also no reduced stopping distance. I will do that again for my 5 spoke Trident wheels, as they will not be fun to keep clean with all their shapes and angles.

        Given that the Z51 is built to support track use, I suspect the pads will be similar to those on the C7 Z51. While you might not notice any difference in braking performance on the street with the Powerstops, I think that in sustained high speed, hard braking on a track you would pretty quickly notice the difference. In fade resistance, if nothing else. But none of us can do any more than speculate at this point.
