  • Z mode and MY mode

I was thinking what will change by pressing buttons on Z and my mode on the base 2LT. I know with my C7 2 LT non Z51 the only thing that changes is the steering. You can change track and sport settings and others but it does not change anything unless you have the shocks.

The mode dial on the base C7 also affects throttle response, and if you have the performance exhaust the sound, in addition to steering.

On the C8, you only get the Z button on the Z51, so on a base model the question doesn't apply. Not sure exactly what the MyMode setting will control, but obviously not the suspension, since you can only get the FE4 suspension on a Z51. This video has some information, and it looks like there's a lot more individual settings you can program to it. But not sure how many of these will only be settable on the Z51.

Sounds like an excellent question that somebody going to the Museum event can ask about (hint, hint).

Meyerweb But not sure how many of these will only be settable on the Z51. Your correct with all you listed. I watch the video and that is how I came up with the question. My mode you can set it to your liking.

Are you sure non-Z51 cars don't get the Z mode button?
In addition to everything mentioned, the different modes will definitely change the DCT shift points and speed and likely traction control intervention as well.

I recall GM saying it was in the Z51 at the reveal. Also, we've seen photos of wheels that have it, and ones without. It seems logical that the ones with are the performance version (Z51) and without the base version. And you don't need the Z button to change modes. All cars get the mode dial on the console and the customizable "MyMode." But no, I'm not 100% certain.
