  • Ciocca Z06 discrepancy in numbers?

C8 tracker shows Ciocca has filled 213 Z06 orders that have made it to 3800 and had a window sticker created.

I was on the Ciocca list from the start and started at number #964. I’ve moved up 189 numbers to #775. Does this mean that 189 orders have been produced off of the list? If so, how is it Z06 orders from Ciocca numbers 213?

I’m sure I’m just misunderstanding something. Thank you.

I have no idea about Ciocca... But, Another large volume corvette dealer has been keeping a ZO6 in the showroom that they are selling at "market Value" and then when they sell that one they do the same with another

Every year when one starts to track numbers, there are always some discrepancies. I have seem this happen every single eyar when we get the final numbers of car made from GM and they never tally exactly to other compiled lists. Everyone is being honest but things are counted differently (different assumptions) as to what is being consider or not.

To answer you question, please note that there are three types of allocations. The official ones awarded (about 99% of the final picture), the bonus ones that occasionally a Zone Manger doles out to a specific dealer for special circumstances (rewards), and the custom VIN ones. Please go back to August 12th of last year when Ciocca listed 32 custom PIN Z06’s. These were awarded outside of traditional lists. Perhaps some of those are part of the seeming discrepancy.

What I can also share is one of oldest truth in person kind, that depending on your initial assumptions, it will to a large measure change your final conclusions.

You have moved up 189 numbers during the 2023 model year. You will move up a really good amount this next year. Good luck.
2023 Z06: Elkhart Lake Blue, 2-tone blue interior, HTC, Standard Z06 with Z07 aero pkg, CCB’s, 3LZ, E60, every visible carbon fiber option including wheels, Jake Design Pkg. Lifetime, annual contributors, and 25 year NCM members. Home is the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Your number reflects the drop in people in line (they have requested their deposits back). Ciocca does not reduce your number as cars have been delivered. Last I heard people with numbers in the low 100s have received their cars.

Also, dealers are allowed to order for dealer stock. IF Ciocca did this, they wouldn't affect the waiting list.

If they’ve ordered 213 cars, it would seem very low to have only people into the low 100s take delivery of their vehicle.

I’m not sure I’ve ever heard what you’re asserting. Are you suggesting that when a dealer gets 30 allocations in a consensus, they can choose to order some for “retail stock” rather than “sold customer order” and those for retail stock do not count against the 30? Or are you asserting that they get additional retail stock allocations outside of the normal consensus?

The first. There is no requirement by GM that dealers fill orders on the waiting list before they order for stock. That's totally up to each dealer. GM has no insight into and doesn't care about waiting lists. I'm not saying Ciocca has done that, only that they could.

As an aside, during the 2020MY (or at least the first part of it), GM was only allowing retail sold orders, but they haven't done that since.

This is why I stopped telling people what number they are on any of my lists. I tell them about how many months until it's your turn. What most customers don't seem to understand is your number means nothing if GM isn't building what you want when it's your turn. Example the next 5 ZO6 orders I have are for ZO7 and nobody will take it off then I have to move on to the next buildable order I have. Each allocation cycle has different constraints. On Stingray/ZO6 right now different wheels are on constraint, engine appearance package, carbon fiber parts, Sea Wolf Gray, Riptide Blue, Cacti, Z51, Non Z51, High Wing Spoilers etc

GM will give us a number of Corvettes allocations we are getting for the month. We receive that number on a Thursday but don't know what is on constraint until the following Thursday. We then have until the 9:00 pm the next day to have our orders into the system GM locks those orders down and on Tuesday we can make any final changes to the order and make sure it goes through what is called one pass and then the next day on Wednesday the orders will be at 3000.

The C8 is entering into the 5th model year and I know about how many cars I will get in a year I will have my customers give their build and I will enter it into the system so they are price protected and it makes it easier when we get our monthly allocations.
