  • Before Heading To A Dealer To See The C8

Caution please, for different dealerships receiving the traveling C8 displays seem to have different policies as to whether the car will be open for all to sit in, only for those who have placed a deposit, or not open at all. In all fairness, some dealers already have over 3,000 folks coming to visit them.

Please therefore before you head off on a drive to a dealership, call them and ascertain for sure what that dealer’s policy is going to be.

I can imagine that some dealers will be overwhelmed. I have not seen the dates and location of these 125 dealer location. Has the list been made public yet? I don't need to sit in the car just look at it. I am already committed and convinced by those that have sit in the car as John, that this is a no brainer decision .

John that is great advise to check on before a long road trip to see the C8. I find it absurd that with all of the traffic to a dealership this traveling show will generate that a dealer would say no you can't see it or sit in it unless you have money down. That would be the last time I ever set foot in that dealership.

There are already 3,000 people signed up for one C8 dealer display, and let us all also consider logistics of that many trying to get into one car.

Just wanted to forewarn all to call ahead before they set out on a long road trip.

Your point is well taken John. That would be a frustrating event to go to with that many people and just 1 car. Chevy may want to rethink the 1 car per showing and add some more cars to each viewing.

Thank you for the heads up. I was gojng to visit one of our dealers friday...with 5 or 6 hours of driving...now Im not sure.

to be honest i totally understand the possible no sitting policy ...if a dealer gets 500 people and each person takes two minutes to sit...how would every person be aboe to get in and out of the car...

arguments, fights, dissatisfaction, riots could ensue if someone is a **** and doesnt get out of the car etc letting other people waiting in line to get in etc..

it could get ugly real fast....and the bad press would not do the dealer or GM or corvette owners a favor...

the bad press could be a real problem if a argument broke out etc...

I always try and consider the other side of a conversation or what could be the motivating factors with some dealerships decision making process...

to put it bluntly...the are a lot of xxxxxxxx in this world..better for a business to error on the side of caution....

im sure whoever the dealer is that prefers to not allow people to sit in the c8 during the show....is doing so to keep the public from having arguments with those who arent getting out fast enough in the time allotted...

high density areas could have a real problem meeting everyones desire to sit in the car...

Simply put..how do you get the guy out legally and without drama if he decides he is not getting out...when the support team asks him to leave...

you cant put anhand on him or it will be on social media faster than you can say corvette fight breaks out...

some people look to create problems just so they can get you tube video attention for their channel.

this is the crazy world we live in and not a sign of a dealer not wanting to accommodate potential customers.

Im not into waiting in lines to see a car and definitely not waiting in an even slower line to sit in a car.

                    ever.

life is too short for that stuff.

I really don't need to sit in one when we go to the museum next month. I just want to see it in person, see the wheels, and see if the Natural interior (hopefully Dipped version) looks as good in person as it does in the pictures.

I just want to see my first one in the flesh, no touching. I'm not looking to take delivery before Spring 2021, and by Summer 2020, MacMulkin's showroom will be full of them, likely in all exterior and interior colors. And as it is the Spider Z51 that interests me most, I only need a look at this time.

We will be creating a time and place for a MECF meet up at NCM. Probably inside so we do not cook, definitively at a pre-arraigned time/date. I will start a thread for that later.
