A few things blurred out in the picture and the ZR1 is in the back ground. I’m wondering if the Z’s will have a different body style rather than going wider? Anyone have any idea of what’s going on in this picture?

I think it more likely that was an earlier styling mockup that didn't make the final cut.

Right, I get that it’s a clay model.
The ZR1 in the background and the blurred picture on the left makes me think it’s not an earlier mock-up. It’s kind of late in the game for that to be just a mock up at the same time having a later version of the C7 ZR1 there?

GM isn't going to leak the Z06 this early in the game. Panel differential for higher performance midels.
as it is I believe I heard the c8 is 2 inches wider than the c7 stingray.
i believe we are going to find the frunk of the c8 z06 will be discarded and we will find an open space like ferrari has done on its pista...
i saw one a few weeks ago at the cars and coffee event...
it was so weird...you looked down on what was the frunk and I saw the ground...
it looked like a formula one front wing.
i think body panel differentiation will occur but not wider...
just a guess and just an opinion.Comment

I'm of the opinion that this is just an earlier styling buck as the design is similar to older concepts. The side intake will likely change in the Z version, but not to a brand new style as shown in this buck. As we now know, they chose the route to be derivative of the C7 to ease the changeover to mid-engine.
I would venture that the below is the Z version (or concepts for the Z) being tested (posted when the car debuted):
In the wind tunnel pictures, this buck appears to have active aero. If you look at the rear spoiler, there is a recessed area that the spoiler will fit in when retracted down.
Also, note the exit behind the front tire in this first pic. You can only see the bottom hole, but the wind flow shows that there is another opening above it.
