I used my normal reward points from the stingray purchase on floor mats for the Escalade. Just my 2 cents but worth checking out GM's app accessories store in the myCadillac or myChevy apps when comes time for redeeming the points. The mats were 15% cheaper in the app with free pickup at the dealer then buying directly from the dealer. Redeeming points on the app is easy too. Just had to log in and it had a redeem points button at checkout.Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/JumpSquadAuto

Yes this story does have a happy ending and will allow GM to make good anyone who did not know or was not instructed about the sign up conditions and turn a very negative situation into a positive win win for all.
But I have to wonder if Austin had reached out to Trevor at GM privately first with this issue and given them a chance to review it and fix it before he lit the fuse of his bomb blasting video would we have the same outcome without all of the drama created by Austin's video slamming GM. We will never know on this one. But Austin's lesson on how to burn a bridge publicly is risky business in my opinion.

Here are the specific points that we received from Chevrolet this morning:- Chevrolet is adjusting the program that rewards 2023 Corvette Z06 owners for retaining their vehicle for 6 months in order to make the benefit to customers more clear. All 2023 Corvette Z06 customers have until December 1, 2023 to enroll in My Chevrolet Rewards to be eligible for the 500,000 point vehicle retention award.
- Documentation signed by the customer will be updated to state that enrolling in My Chevrolet Rewards is required for claiming points. It will also alert customers that points will be uploaded 45 days after the customer reaches 6 months of ownership and is enrolled in the My GM Rewards program. This allows for Chevrolet to verify ownership status meets program requirements.
- My Chevrolet Rewards points can be redeemed toward the purchase of Chevrolet vehicles, accessories, parts, service and more.
- In order to receive points for the vehicle purchase or lease, customers must enroll in My Chevrolet Rewards within 30 days of the vehicle purchase/delivery.

Perhaps it's just me or my own opinion, but I believe Austin may have come across a bit too harshly in the beginning on his You Tube channel with his criticism regarding this topic. I believe by going public with this initially, without first trying to resolve it internally came across as jumping the gun per se.... Granted, his coming out now to announce the resolution to the issue is certainly commendable however, I'm far less likely to follow Austin's channel in the future because of this. Sorry to all the Austin fans out there, but this is how one damages their credibility.

You paid for them....but at least you can redeem them.....you should realize that there is no free lunch and that the consumer pays for all the margins and values added to a product or a service....the cost of this program is included in the inventory cost to the dealer who passes it on to buyer ..... if you don't redeem them, it is pure profit....
It is a clever way to presell $5000 worth of products or services.....I did not watch the video...Last edited by bartruff; 05-26-2023, 03:05 PM.

Every future Z06 owner should be thanking Austin for being the canary in the coal mine, not only for this $5k in parts counter credit but his experiences with carbon fiber wheels (and soon on his channel the ceramic brakes).
Speed Phenom is still the best youtube channel for practical C8-Z06 knowledge.

Finally!
I think that this is a fair and reasonable compromise between GM and their customers. Especially for those who undergo a medical or financial hardship.
Sometimes, being a firm (Karen or Kenneth) is what it takes to correct an unfair and shady GM offer. Complaining does not make one "entitled," only a good steward.
Way to make it right GM.
Thank You!

Who is not really surprised here? All on video for everyone to see.
it’s the circle of life!
problems, drama, solutions…
hurray
glad the young YouTuber got his z06 , then video taped all his wonderful escapades , the. Ran into a problem with his carbon fiber delicate wheels but created a solution . Samegoes for his 5 grand for holding the car six months and not flipping it.
if you didn’t finance through GM financial then using the extra five over the years for service and or extended warranty is what I would do..
maybe buy a few items from GM parts as suggested
I don’t anticipate the service costs to be inexpensive over the years so having that five grand will come in handy . That was a nice first year effort to slow down flipping and I think it worked..Last edited by JB; 05-27-2023, 06:36 AM.
