  • Long shot: looking for Z06 near MSRP

Hey guys, I’ve been searching for a Z06 for a couple weeks now with no luck. I’m looking for a base Z06 coupe, ext, white, grey, silver, black and black or grey interior, really not picky on options, prefer 2 or 3lz and front lift, other then that it’s not a big concern. I’m planning on installing bucket seats, harness and much bigger areo from Verus as it’ll see a lot of track time!
Anyways I’m trying to find one with 10k ADM or less. I’ve had no luck and even a couple leads I got lead to 50k over. Maybe I’m just out of luck for now and am going to have to wait this out. On lot or allocation in the next year also works. If anyone has a lead that would be greatly appreciated.

    Thomas

We wish we could assist you but unfortunately given the Z06 demand level, those dealerships selling at MSRP have years and years of list and the market right now is about +$40K or more ADM for those that are now available at greedy dealers.
2023 Z06: Elkhart Lake Blue, 2-tone blue interior, HTC, Standard Z06 with Z07 aero pkg, CCB’s, 3LZ, E60, every visible carbon fiber option including wheels, Jake Design Pkg. Lifetime, annual contributors, and 25 year NCM members. Home is the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

yup, that just seems where we’re at for the moment. I’m guessing it’ll be 4-6 months at least before I can purchase but hoping I get lucky or if someone backs out of an MSRP deal and refers me or wants to make a few easy bucks I’ll take it!

Best of luck to your pulling that off. A few have been in the right place at the right time, but very few.

It’s an absolute LONG shot! Luckily I have a supercar and I’m not feeling desperate in any way to move on, so I’ll just keep contacting dealers and waiting out the market until supply continues to catch up.

Good luck.... There are quite a few listed but most a really loaded with options. Based on what sellers are netting out after fees, etc, at the most recent auctions, 10% over MSRP isn't unusual. I think that will contribute to the prices softening over the next 6 months.

Yep, I saw a 3LZ HTC bid to $190K or so at Mecum in Indianapolis last night on MotorTrend TV. I wasn't paying close attention as to whether it actually sold or didn't make reserve, but that was the high bid.

The broad attitude is that, if there is a new low option one out there at 10K$ over MSRP, then buy and drive it for 6 months free. Then [probably at market] sell for about the amount of purchase price. Nicely broken in.So maybe you can catch a 6 month old used one soon as someone is bored. Some short attention spans in the car world.

I see you have been a member here for a while, but you must not have been paying attention to the Z06 threads otherwise you would know that the cars at MSRP are sold out for years to come. Just look at the Stingray and you will see after 4 years they are still not caught up with demand at MSRP. Even with a $10,000. ADM you would be years away from getting a Z06. I just turned down an allocation for a Z06 from MM to wait for the 2024 but I would not have been able to sell or give away my spot in line. You basically have three choices. 1. pay $50,000. over, 2. wait for at least 3-4 years, 3. buy a different car. I'm afraid you missed the boat on this one, but miracles do happen and I wish you all the best in finding that miracle! Keep us informed on how things go.

actually no, I hd an order with furman for a Z06 in ‘17 and moved it to zr1. The reason I switched was I didn’t expect such a price jump. Just decided recently it would be nice to get a Z06 and turn it into a mostly track dedicated car. I honestly disagree I think 12-18 months will be my wait time, if they keep Producing at the current rate. Plus E-Ray will get some Z06 buyers I’m sure and there’s just only so many people that can afford/justify 125k 2 seat sports cars. And who knows what’s going to happen with the economy over the next year or 2.

Good luck on a 12 - 18 month Z06 wait. The big dealers have lists that were years long even at the anticipated build rates, and so far build rates have been much lower than that. Even if the economy tanks, there are more than 500,000 millionaires in America. Serious Z06 buyers won't be hurt by a recession.

You're not being realistic in the least. Number one, if someone backs out on an order, it's not their car to give away, it's the dealers and he will be tickled to death someone bailed out because he will promptly have a non sold unit he can ask $50k over for. As far as the time line goes, 12-18 months isn't happening either. I'm on a list at my dealer (good sized with good allocations) and honestly feel the car will be out of production before my number comes up.

The Z06 will be in production through the end of this generation — which will originally included the 2027 model year, but will imo be extended due to the strike, Covid, supply chain and thus my bet it will be around through the 2029 model year. OR, it could instead be co-made along with the C9 — especially so if sales of the C8 are strong through the end and especially as some have rumored, the C9 will not be made at BG.

maybe, we’ll see. You could absolutely be right. The last time it tanked I recall Z06 sitting on lots at discounts and that is arguably the greatest Z06 of them all. Millionaires turn and burn cars, they buy them early, get their thrills and trade ‘em as soon as the next thing comes out.
