  • For Those Of Us With Only A 1LT

To have a Wi-Fi digital camera in the front bumper to see the curb when parking. No monitor required. Your phone is your screen / monitor.
I think I found the answer to the above. What are all your thoughts?

Looks like it would work well assuming the wire routing and transmitter were not subjected to something producing interference. Of course the phone would need to be mounted where you could easily see it. Honestly I haven't had an issue with parking my 1LT without it. I just stay aware of curbs and walls and that seems to be adequate for me. I do think others will take advantage of this equipment for their cars, maybe even as an additional rear view camera if they feel the standard inside mirror is not sufficient.

Yes, On my C7, I had a camera connected to a WiFi transmitter, and viewed the image on an old cell phone mounted in the cubby behind the car's screen. No cubby on the C8, so you'd need a phone mount. I recommend the ProClip. The drawback I found was that the camera broadcast continuously, and if the phone was continuously receiving the image it tended to overheat. That might not be a problem if the phone's not enclosed.

One possible upgrade: Icarlinkit has a device (CP2Video) that mirrors your phone screen to the infotainment system using the Car's Apple Car Play app (works with Android phones, too, not just Apple). That would let you display the camera image on the car's screen.

I ended up returning it unused. I decided it really wasn't going to do what I wanted.

I have been Battling the 1LT thing for a while. I hate the idea of spending the extra money for 90% of the other stuff I dont care about.

The home link is an easy fix (replacement)..

                  The Front cam is wanted,
The folding mirrors is semi needed (tight fit in the garage)
Another thing many dont remember is the Alarm will lose the motion sensor. I was getting coup anyway but if I do have the top off it should be nice to have it..

The sami good news is I think 2LT is 5K for the E-ray.

I believe the motion sensor is disabled when the top is off.

On a car that starts out $40k higher. Not sure a $2k savings after you spend an additional $40k to get it is good news. 🤷‍♂️

What sold me on the 2LT was the LCD mirror. The rear view on my wife’s 1LT is terrible.

It took a day or so to get used to it (you have to focus the mirror itself whereas with an actual rear view mirror you focus on the car behind you) but I absolutely love it. Another benefit is at night, cars behind you don’t blind you through the mirror, it is much less tiring to drive at night.

all the other things are useful but not must-have for me. The blind spot monitoring is definitely a useful safety feature though.

1LT here. Haven’t had any issues with parking or rear visibility.

I have 5VM front splitter installed and upgraded to racing wheels, but I am still not troubled😎

I just take the same precautions as I do in any other car.

I thought I needed 10% of the extra tech in the 2LT, but after daily driving my 1LT for a year in heavy Florida traffic I can firmly say I am happy I did not add the 2LT.

At the NCM delivery I did, however, add the Paragon wide angle mirrors. I don’t know if these did the trick or if they are also redundant. I feel they are a good addition not adding any weight.

For some, 2LT is necessary. For some it is a valuable addition. For some (like me) it is an unnecesary upsell.

I've loved the 1LT... with Z51, the 5VM ground effects package and mag ride. I did get a bunch of the cosmetic options and had the stitching dyed red. Like some I wanted the rear view camera mirror in the coupe, but I think I heard that is included in 2024 MY for at least some of the c8 models.

My only regret was not ordering the performance data and video recorder. At the time no.one including Corvette Concierge could describe if it included the front camera which was a basic requirement for it to be functional.

It looks like the 2024 Eray has a number of features are standard to all models... so I will look at the 2LT upgrade cost and features before deciding. Hopefully before year end.

I actually know someone that has a flip phone, no internet or an email. Personally I could never survive not having all 3..
