  • Haha , saw a Z06

So I was out tonight to get some ice cream at a local ice cream shop. While driving my unicorn C8 , out of a side road comes a silver Z06 . Now mind you I live in a 9000 population village and if I see a C8 ( maybe 1 in 3 or 4 months) it usually has out of state plates. So this was a funny sight for me and I was smiling driving to the IC shop. He enjoy the ride. Life is short

I've only seen the same one twice, at car shows. I have yet to see one in the wild and I live in a county with a population of about 270k and work in a city with a population of about 1M. They're still unicorns around here.

I've never seen one 'in the wild' yet, and I live in sportscar dense Southern California. I don't see many Stingrays either, except at cars & coffee etc. They're still relatively rare for me to see. Teslas however...I don't think I could throw a stone without hitting one in traffic.

Only at cars and coffee and car shows. Sadly it’s barely differentiated in the styling department. Only corvette enthusiasts can tell the difference.

most people just think it’s a slightly louder corvette …

don’t get me wrong I love the z06 and Eray and can see the difference….but the average person on the street can’t tell.

Other than the get together at calicargirl’s where we had five C8 Z06s, I have only seen one other one here in SoCal. The other one is owned by a friend and fellow club member so I see it and him often.
Another friend and club member is picking his Z06 up at the Museum R8C around June 6. We are all planning to meet up in Utah or Nevada and drive back into SoCal together.

And you are right, the general public doesn’t notice the difference from a Stingray. I even had to explain to my wife to look for the “wishbone” on the side and center exhaust in the rear to ID a Z06.

I saw one of the travelling road show Z06s last summer at the dealer where my club held our annual All Corvette Cruise-Intm.

And one of our club members got his Z06 earlier this spring, so I've seen that one up close and personal a few times.

I've been making more frequent sightings of C8 SRs over the past few months, but haven't "seen" a Z06 on the road yet. However, I swear that I've heard one nearby. My neighborhood is near the intersection of a 2-lane state highway and a very busy county road and I hear ALOT of traffic. or rather, loud exhausts. Late at night I've heard all sorts of loud cars / bikes make WOT runs from the stop light at the intersection. Years ago when the supercharged ZL1s, C7 Z06s and Hellcats came out, I've heard those blast down the road frequently. Within the last 2 weeks, I heard the distinctive scream of an LT6 and lightning-quick DCT shifts on more than one occasion. It's only a matter of time before it and I cross paths.

Saw this one in January in Detroit. VIN was P5300185, a CTF.

Driving up to the BASH, I saw one driving west on I-40 between Memphis and Nashville. I was quite surprised.

I’ve been lucky to get one and been driving mine around OC the last two weeks. Only seen 1 other zo6 driving on the freeway and it was a Gray zo7. I usually see 2-3 stingrays every day where I live.

I've seen 2 other Z's here in Destin. Both at the same house, and both are 70th anniversary packages. 1 is his daily driver and the other is parked in the garage next to his Lamborghini. Stingrays I see constantly, maybe 3-5 a day. Very popular car here in the Panhandle of Florida.

I got a ride in one 2 weeks ago. Those things are a lot closer to race cars than the Stingray that's for sure. Sounds like one, rides like one and knocks the breath out of you like one. LOL

I live just outside of Detroit, and Ive seen a handful of Z06s already. Just seen an AO one on the highway a few days ago. I wonder if this is the red one I've seen 3x now getting gas at a gas station just down the street from my house. It had a manufactures plate on it too.

I've seen lots of them but all of them were in Bowling Green.

I did see rickg747's last week at a car show we both attended in Ft. Walton Beach, FL.
