This too was my experience. I did nothing but download an app and provide an email. That being said, I think this speaks to what John is trying to say, there are other parties involved so it can be a slew of possible situations. Also though, we only have one side to go off of so we are doing what most people do every day and reactive based off what is available. Let's just hope when more information is available we do what is rarely done and reflect back on why we reacted how we did now that we have the full picture and get better for future situations.

I just spoke with GM Rewards and confirmed that my Z06 was registered. However, the new bit of information I was told is that it takes up to an additional 45 days for them to confirm that you did own the car for 6 months and release the 500,000 points to your account. That means it might be up to 7.5 months after purchase before you can spend the points/money. Might alter your plans for spending the points; it did mine as I was planning on buying big ticket items right at 6 months.

I am in full support of Austin. I believe it is videos and chats like these that have addressed real issues like the transmission failures and helped us all become more aware and the parties involved to take action. It seems clear to me that a few vocal chats in this stream have not seen the video. Austin is very clear about not placing blame and thanks GM for the wheels, he also showed the same doucuments that he signed that John also showed which do not appear to highlight that he needed take addional action beyond signing and waiting for the credit to show up in his existing chevy rewards account.

To me Austin has pretty balanced view. He has described both tire and brake wear and costs and attributes those wear rates to his track use.

He clearly loves the track performance of the Z06 and is informing us all of his experience both good and bad

I do not understand why facts are interpreted as a shot at GM?

So…”instructions” have been mentioned several times in this thread. I’m guessing there are none, at least for the customer. Can someone point me to the instructions?

sign up for gm or Chevy rewards. When your z06 comes in add that to the app. Your done.

And where has GM provided those instructions to buyers? Nowhere that I've seen. As far as who to blame, all the parties involved are part of GM. Whether it's GM Rewards, or GM Corporate, or some other part of the organization, it's still GM.

Wouldn’t the dealer bear some responsibility in the process? In my multiple Covette purchases
From MacMulkin they registered my VIN as part of my delivery purchase

The only way I could see him not getting the rewards is if his selling dealer never activated his Onstar on the car. Onstar and My Chevrolet Rewards share account information so if they activated Onstar with the same email, then it should have automatically been added to My Chevrolet Rewards. If his car has been visible in his My Chevrolet app, then that means it should also get the points. If it was never visible on the My Chevrolet app then it was never activated.

I believe the initial purchase points is based on cost of car. 1point per $5.00.

I doubt that. I got 10,000 for buying a $95,000 C8 in 2020. Other than that the only rewards I get are for OnStar payments. I’ve gotten no credit for purchases at the parts counter, probably because I need to give them a membership number or something. I find the website confusing — for example, it pushes buying Sirius and it knows I have a Sirius plan in my car but I get no points for the purchase. Precisely how one earns points and redeems them is not at all clear. Consequently I rarely look at the website, which seems to be a vehicle to sell GM credit cards, which I have no interest in.
