  • Mighty Quiet on The Noisy MECF Today: Disappointment or what>

The "C8 Fathers, thank you. And Mothers included in the generalization.

The Show: Nice guys at GM are Sincere Presenters. I was frustrated looking at them tell me about something while blocking my view. I'm waiting for Jay Leno to really present the thing at 11 something a.m on is Facebook page live.

I could not appreciate anything one way or another from the "Reveal" last night. A lot of talking and bad lighting obstructed figuring out anything. Great GM car makers doing their best to give us what we want. Now I need "Leno" to reveal the thing that the "C8 Fathers" have so graciously created.

Well: What did/does anyone out there think about the car;?????

I think it is amazing (so close to the renderings), gorgeous car, almost 500 hp, under $60k, less than 3 seconds...what's not to like?

Based on the GM marketing presentation, it's fantastic. We'll have to wait until it gets into the hands of the magazines and real owners to know more. The specs are fantastic. How they translate into the real world? Only time will tell. I'm not willing to make a final judgement on the styling until I see it in person. I think the overall shape is great, but based on photos agree somewhat with Bob Cumberford at Car and Driver that some of the details are really busy, with too many lines going in too many different directions.

I also wonder about how rapidly the cost is going to go up from that "Under 60K." ($59,995 plus destination?) In order to get the performance exhaust do I have to pay for the whole Z51 package? What does the 2LT package cost? How much extra for the heated and cooled seats? Could read $75 or $80K quickly.

Under $60K and under 3 seconds, but not both at the same time. The under 3 second figure is for the unpriced Z51 package with it's shorter gearing.

How much function do those slitted AC vents at the bottom of the dash give up for form? I want to be able to blow cool air on my face. Not sure that's going to work very well in this new car. And where are the cupholders? That opening in the console is listed as having USB ports and an aux input. Doesn't sound like somewhere you'd want to put your coffee mug.

I guess I'm saying that right now there are as many unanswered questions as there are answers.

Definitely happy with where they went. Don’t love the rear of the car though. And the interior with the buttons I’m not sold on but it may totally love it. Can’t wait for them to announce the tours to see everything in person

Yes, a lot of unansered questions, but @ $60,000 you can add $20,000 in upgrades & still have a great car for the money.

I like it, as others have to see it in person. Since the car is so reasonably priced inclusive of an expensive DCT, I would think all the options as the LT2 and the Z61 package will fall in line with the C7 pricing. As that DCT tranny is a $3,000 PLUS Option on Other Brands. So there really wasn't a price increase from the C7 to the C8.

I'm agreeing with the 'Dog. The presentation was long on preliminary chat and short on actually showing and discussing the main attraction. And when they did it was constantly either blocked, or cut away to a long shot.

Since all the great renders we have seen there was really no surprise for me. Price was nice. Lack of convertible was not.

Actually, it's only a $3K option in Porsche cars. VW only charges $1100 for their DCT. And on most other sports cars it's standard, or included in a particular trim line so you can't separate out the price.

But I think $80K will price it out of a lot of people's budgets.

The car, I think, is absolutely fantastic. Could not have asked for more. No other company could have achieved more: the pricing and product.

Yeah, did you read the thread? The question is what it will cost with options. The $60K price lacks a lot of things that the C7 includes.

I agree with Meyerweb. Until we know the added cost of a convertible (unofficially $4500) , Z51, FE4 mag ride, 2LT, the front end lift, the exact price is still unknown. but my guess is around $75K for a car configured as I would like it. Then, in a year, I think we will start to see some GM discounting, after the initial pent up demand is satisfied..
