When it became known that the Next Generation Corvette Reveal would take place somewhere in Orange County, I wasted no time booking flights, hotel rooms, and a rental car, in hopes of receiving an invitation. As time went by, I realized that I was not going to receive a media or owners pass, but I was still holding onto the possibility that tickets would be available via the National Corvette Museum. They did indeed become available, but the eBay auction for the tickets climbed beyond my means. During that time, a good friend was able to provide tickets to the Friday C8 Celebration at the reveal venue, which was an awesome development for sure! A buddy from the DFW area was also planning on traveling with me, so we were both elated about being able to attend the Friday event.
But the story doesn't end there and became even more exhilarating today!
Just a few minutes ago, my mobile phone rang and I saw that it was Mike Furman from Criswell Chevrolet. I answered the phone and said, "What do I owe the pleasure of receiving a phone call from Mike Furman today?" With excitement he said, "First, you will owe me for the rest of your life." and then said, "Do you still want to attend the Thursday night reveal? Let me give you a minute to think about it." I started to laugh and said, "Ummmmmmmmmm....YES!!!!" Mike went on to say how one of Mr. Criswell's invitees had to back out and had returned the owner passes he had received. Mr. Criswell then asked Mike if he still had a customer that wanted to attend the reveal that was already going to be out there and that he would give those passes to Mike if he did. And with that, Mike picked up the phone and called to share the news!
Mike, you, my friend, are the best of the best! There is no way I can adequately express my appreciation for what you are doing for me. You're a man who truly cares about people, and not just so you can make a sale. You befriended me in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and never once pushed me to even consider buying a Corvette from you. So when it was time to order my 2017 Grand Sport after loosing my 2014 Stingray in a flood, it was just natural that I picked up the phone to call a friend who happen to be the #1 Corvette Salesman of All Time! Thank you, Mr. Criswell and Mike Furman for making so many wonderful things become a reality in my life! I will owe you for the rest of my life!
