You were smart to call it quits exactly as and when you did. We hope for your having surprise two week warm, sunny and dry spell so you can have a Fabulous February out of storage, putting double or more the miles you now have on it during your special two-weeker. And just like the Stingray, at 500 miles you will get another 20-25% kick in the butt torque in 1st and 2nd gear…

Thank you.
Truthfully I am not yet in a position to have very meaningful insights. I drove only 485 miles in my Z06-all keeping it under 4000 rpm except maybe the last few miles before storing my car LOL
As such I have not been able to feel the capability of the engine given that I was rpm limited and still under the reduced torque that the engine is permitted to produce prior to completing 500 miles.
It will be a few months until I am back on the east coast and can complete the last few miles of the break in period and fully appreciate the car.
Given those caveats, my initial thoughts (again under break in conditions) are that the Stingray is probably a more enjoyable road car-given the instant torque advantage-although I think that impression will not hold up based on a couple spirited acceleration boosts during the last few miles.
I found that the mag ride suspension on the Z06-(over the same rough NE roads) actually felt smoother to me than the Z51 non mag ride suspension I(impression from only a few weeks earlier over the same roads).
However the styling and most incredible sounding and revving engine of the Z06 make all comparison moot-but for those that are not on a waitlist, know that you are not giving up much if any enjoyment on the road.
I know that the obvious question is-given that I was so close to reaching the full potential of the car-why did I not keep driving a few more miles so that I could experience it without delay. The answer is, I had not slept in nearly 36 hours-having taken the redeye overnight from California and going straight to pick up the car at MacMulkin and then driving nearly 500 miles. I was not comfortable with that kind of driving, in the pitch black of night on unfamiliar roads in an unfamiliar car-given my recent lack of sleep.
I do have a couple other takeaways though. Mag ride on a Z51 is probably worth it-it makes a noticeable difference. That being said, I go back and forth on whether I will order it on my 24 Stingray.
Comp seats are plenty comfortable and I did not find them restrictive at all. I am very wide in the shoulder, but wear a size 32 pair of Levis LOL. In fact, on my 3LT Stingray I can adjust the bolsters on the GT2 seats to hug me closer than the non moveable bolsters on the 1LZ Comp seats do. I ordered the comp seats because I enjoyed the Recaros in my GT500 so much-unfortunately I still prefer the Recaros-over the comp seats. I would only get comp seats on a 1LT/LZ as I am a sucker for a bargain-otherwise I would prefer the GT2s- The GT1 seats are very comfortable, but I just do not prefer the styling of them-this is purely a styling issue for me as I had them on my first C8 and had no complaints about them or their comfort.
I did miss some of the 3LT material finishes and options as I do not have them on my 1LZ-most notably blind spot monitor and I have grown to really enjoy the built in GPS.
That is all I can think of for now-happy to answer any specific questions though.Last edited by Dumbell2; 01-27-2023, 08:04 PM.

Congratulations to all who were able to get their allocation, especially John. I will be jumping for joy when my number is called and I get to order one. I don’t care if I have to get a version or color (because of constraints) I would never choose as long as that LT6 is in there! Just hearing the shriek of the engine at 8000+ rpm’s has me giggling with the driver on the review videos. So happy for all getting one
You got that right.
