  • GM’s Official Livestream Channel Announced In Press Release

In today’s official 7.18.19 announcement, we see a dedicated channel that will “open up” at 7:30 PM (PST) ten days from now. Also very exciting, is the news that starting on July 19th, the C8 touring displays, will start, traveling to 125+ selected Chevrolet dealerships. I have bonded the content of the two traveling C8 display tours.

The official, seven-continent-wide-available Reveal site is: https://media.chevrolet.com/nextgenCorvette

Following the reveal, the Next Generation Chevrolet Corvette will embark on two nationwide dealership tours

    2019-07-08

DETROIT — The late Zora Arkus-Duntov, the father of the Chevrolet Corvette, had a vision for a mid-engine Corvette. That vision will come to life the evening of July 18, 2019, in Orange County, California, and the world can watch the reveal via livestream from the comfort of their own homes.

The livestream opens at 7:30 p.m. PDT/10:30 p.m. EDT on July 18 and can be accessed through media.chevrolet.com/nextgenCorvette, which also will be sent out on Chevrolet’s social media channels. The stream will include Corvette video footage, a hosted preshow and the reveal presentation. It will be available for viewing across the globe, in all seven continents.

“There is a large contingent of Corvette fans across the world waiting for the reveal of the Next Generation. We’re happy to give these fans, and all sports car enthusiasts, a way to see and learn about the vehicle at the same time as those participating live in California,” said Barry Engle, executive vice president and president, the Americas, GM. “Viewers will hear directly from Chevrolet leadership, engineering and some special guests about the highlights and background of this first mid-engine Corvette.”

Following the reveal, the Next Generation Corvette will hit the road for two national dealership tours that will include vehicle specialists and numerous interactive displays. At these events, Chevy dealers will host customers to showcase the new mid-engine supercar, display customizable parts (seats, wheels, accessories, etc.) and teach people how they can personalize their own Corvette.

“With all the excitement around this vehicle, we don’t want people to have to wait to experience it in person,” said Engle. “Our national tours will bring the Next Generation car right to our customers’ local Chevrolet dealership, where they can start imagining themselves in their very own personalized mid-engine Corvette.”

The tours will begin on the East and West Coasts and stop at more than 125 select dealerships across the U.S. starting after the reveal and extending through early 2020. Tour dates and cities will be available starting on July 19.

To our Canadian Friends/Members: Do we know need a separate “Announcement” link for your countdown clock, or is the new Livestream URL link working right now for you to provide you that countdown clock link (which suspect)?

Even though we are living in a bleak cold wilderness surrounded by polar bears, wolves, and giant raccoons, we still have an internet that manages to access that link.

Thanks. I thought so.. I want to be safe rather than sorry and leave anyone out. I will now remove that special Canadian countdown clock link. Thanks Bikerjulio.

We love Canada. In fact our first C8 road trip that we definitively are going on, will be to British Columbia and Alberta! Got to share in your Molsons — but we do not love your gas prices (last trip there cost was $5.50 per gallon in US money).

BC is most expensive and AB should be cheapest. And there's the very weak loonie.

In Ontario I filled up yesterday with premium at CDN $1.30/L which equates to US $1.00/L. Since there are 3.79L per US gallon, my fill up cost US$3.79/USGal. So nothing like as bad as your $5.50.

I see regular in Oregon is now $3.21 so if premium is 12% more it would be at $3.60, making our $3.79 only 5% more.

Gas buddy has BC a little more expensive than ON but AB is CDN $0.91/l equivalent to US $2.65/gall!

I really hope they will include a couple of stops in Canada too. Otherwise I may have look up the closest US dealer and plan a little trip across the border.

We are visiting even if fuel were then our equivalent of $7.50/gallon.

Glad we will start to know, maybe totaling know, the 125+ stops on July 19th. I hope a bunch of them are in Canada!

My dealer, Brian Cullen in St Catharines, the largest by sales in Canada, is literally only 15 minutes from the border in Niagara Falls. So if any influential GM people are reading......................

To put this in perspective, I looked up the sales numbers here http://gmauthority.com/blog/gm/chevr...sales-numbers/

Over the past 3 years, total sales were 57,849 of which 4,248 or 7.3% were in Canada. By a long way the largest export market.

It's fair jaunt for me to St Catharines but I'd totally do it.

I hope GM at least hits the big 3 -- Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver. Maybe add Calgary in there to take care of the mid-western enthusiasts.
