  • Zora R (ZO6 equivalent) Lapped Faster than GT2RS

Zora R is higher hp variant #1 (ZO6 equivalent). Will debut late 2020. Available for order first quarter 2021. And oh by the way... It has lapped the Nurburgring faster than the GT2RS.

Zora R(X) is higher hp variant #2 (ZR1 equivalent 150% Track Focused). Still in development.

Fun note. True Story, the Chevy team at the Nurburgring thinks Porsche has sent spies. One Chevy engineer recognized a Porsche mid level performance division executive “probing” from a distance. As they approached the man, he pretended not to speak english, got in car and left.

More info to pass along as I get it.

That sounds awesome! Also, just curious. You comment a lot of insider information on the car. Do you work for GM, or how do you get this information?

Doggone. I was hoping that the differentiated assembly modifications at Bowling Green would allow Zs to be produced with the base model from the get go.

Are you certain there will just be the base model the first 10+ months ??

Is the Zora R(X) the near 1000 hp variant ?? If not, when do they speculate production to start on that model ??

That is absolutely incredible, I'm assuming this is a relatively recent development? The side scoops on the latest cars at the 'ring almost look a little bigger than what we'd been seeing, but that could easily just be from different lens distortions

Thank you. That information is rewarding to the Corvette faithful.

Can you pass along the following as specific or approximate info about the Zora R:

          1. Weight with fluids? 2. Engine Configuration? 3. HP@RPM? 4. TQ@RPM?

          5. Is Zora going to be the official name of the base car?

Always the cynic, I'll believe it when I see it. And if you were implying a Ring lap record, Aventador SVJ is the current record holder.

So are "lap records" at the 'Ring independently measured? Or simply self-reported? Former would have a lot more credence and would be hard to keep secret. Latter is obviously easier to fudge.

Interesting question? But the details only Pinocchio noes. Setting records by a nose.

The Nurburgring does not have any official reporting of lap times, which is why there was such doubt about the Huracan Performante's lap time until Lamborghini released the data from the lap. That being said, it is easier to fudge but there are a lot of people who are very quick to study and call out lap times that seem 'off'.

Now now, I thought I was on the other forum for a second... as always take any speculative information as it is: speculative. You can choose to believe it or not, but those risking their career and/or the career of someone they care about to entertain us fans don't have any obligation to anyone, just as we don't have any obligation to believe every statement on any forum.
