Could it be that GM, to avoid massively expensive shipping ME costs to and from Europe, left a ME or two in Europe knowing they would be back to Nurburgring testing later for the C8, probably doing actual lap record attempts at some point.

Of course between last September’s N’Ring testing and today, and software and hardware changes would have had to be implemented on the current-testing ME’s.

    Thank you Corvette_Nut!

Makes sense. Might there be a push for a lap record in the next couple of weeks so it could be announced on July 18th?
Enjoying my Shadow gray C8. What a car it is.

I would guess if going for times they would have very little extras on the car. To me the side looks padded a little. Know for sure soon enough.

The rear wing looks like the same one FVS and Chaz have in their renderings. Nice I think it will look good body color.

Great idea Shrike, for she has over 25,000 laps at the N’Ring. Also decades ago, because she was a woman no one would let her drive their Porsche race cars, she build one by herself. She has won the 24 hour sports car races in addition to many, many shorter ones. She is a beyond-accomplished race car driver!!!

Should be good testing for proper cooling in C8; According to my friend they had 48C (118F) in my hometown (Trier) and at the Ring this last week.

With all the controversy over the C7 lap times at the Ring. I sure would like to see GM do a less than seven minute lap with the C8. I really enjoyed following Jim Meros take on the C7 and his experiences and videos of the C6 and C7s laps. I just think it would be one great advertising tool for GM If they want the Euro market , they got the cars there , GO FOR IT

I doubt any ring records are being done at this point. All of GM published times are accompanied with a video and the car is production spec, including paint, with of course safety gear and timing equipment. Not saying they aren't trying to get a baseline but whatever time it is they probably won't say anything until paint is on that car. I believe they have mentioned this a couple times now.
