This LT6 engine was on display at NCM, and is apparently getting shipped back to XPO (whatever that is). But note the wording on the pallet....

Pure speculation; no offense intended: Pure speculation.

      Only 2900 2019 ZR1s? Pretty low numbers.

If the ZR1 ( or Zora ) production numbers are really low, then a Carbon fiber structure option is doable? And 3/400,000K$ price? For a few lucky people.

Is it possible? At GM. I am sure the engineers would do it if allowed, if permitted. They have the engine.

For such a low number of cars and given inflation a carbon fiber tub would probably require a msrp far north of 400k. McLaren gets away with it by utilizing the same tub across multiple models for over a decade. A good starting price would probably be similar to the Ford GT @ 500k and those cars barely had any margin which isn't GMs business model for the Corvette. I'm sure had demand been greater than 2900 GM would've happily built more than 2900 ZR-1s in 2019.

I would probably speculate the C8 ZR1 would see C6 style run where ~4700 were made spread over 3-4 years. Zora being what ZR1 was to C7 what Zora is to the C8. The last year of production of the C8 acting as a send off.

agree with meyerweb, that original snippet of all the future models became less believed as time went on and the rumour of a Grand Sport seemed to die with the advent of the E-Ray or perhaps transformation of the grand sport to become an E-Ray.
this made it suspect to keep believing that they would go down the road of forced induction on a high compression high revving motor. But seeing the engine code in print on a pallet with the same LT6 for the Z06 restores hope in validation of the original release of future models. Super cool OP to see.
2013 scion frs with SBD turbo
                1988 porsche 944S becoming a 948 with C5 5.7L LS1
soon to be elkhart blue 3LZ Z06 with stealth, CF2 and aftermarket aero, two tone red/black interior, red logos, red seatbelts, red calipers with black wheels

And it is much more complicated than just the carbon fiber cost, so it is not as easy as simple logic what it cost.

And the C8 Z06 is pricing out similar to the 2019 ZR1. Seems like it will easily exceed 2900 units. If GM had capped C8 Z06 production to 3000 units total, then a frenzy would have happened and high market price.

Hope I last long enough to witness the ZR1 and the Zora, it is all such an orchestrated mystery.

I agree it's much more than cost of the tub, for instance the carbon fiber tub would have significantly wider and higher door sills forcing extensive redesign of doors, quater panels, and interior. All that cost would need to be recouped over the course of the model run. The ZR1's development cost were mostly baked in as it was a significant redesign of an existing Z06. A carbon fiber tub for a C8 variant wouldn't enjoy that advantage.

Sheep Dog... I always thought 'Senior' Contributor was simply someone on this forum from its early days. However, after that last post (above, 'last long enough') it seems it may relate to our chronological position in life. So I am no longer envious of that particular designation and will try to keep my age disguised. Although I too would resemble that remark! HaHaHa
It's odd I (we) used to often say.. 'If I live long enough to... " see/get this or that, a commentary of something taking far longer than it should. Nowadays I am acutely aware of that particular phrase being all too possible when in the 'advanced' stage of life!

It isn't hard proof but being physically printed on official cargo it makes it more than pure speculation. It sits somewhere in the middle between both of those extremes, much closer to physical proof than blind speculation.

BTW this is likely what XPO is:
