  • "The C8 Drama" is Innovative Marketing and Theater

The “Marketing of C8” has taken a page from Apple’s iphone presentation. But expanded it into a longer drama. Other auto marketing departments are probably observing the “process” , instead of the product. It has been dramatic and riveting for the car guy crowd, with paparazzo peeps and intentional and suppressed leaks.
There are much larger examples of broader general interest. Boxing has had Ali and recently Mayweather. Promotion, mystery, hype and drama.
The Super Bowl and World Cup etc. may not quite fit.
07.18.19 is a big act in the C8 drama. But is it Act IV or Act I or which/what? What does the C8 really look like? Mystery. What will it do? Drama. How will it stack-up? Mystery. Cost??? How much will July 18th leave untold. Like in boxing, you don't know the round or when it will end.

Thanks Sheepdog. The reveal will certainly not be the Final Act of the C8 Corvette . For some of us it may be the final act as our anticipation settles. For the majority it very well may be Act I. The whole world will then be watching and the subsequent performance Upgrades will be the following acts.

Do you think the GM Build site will be up on 7-18-19 so we can start building our dream C8 and know all the options to pick from?

This and other Corvette forums have the people being teased by this endless reveal. I'm thinking that the 99.9% rest of the car buying world hasn't a clue. So how is this non-campaign helping GM sell Corvettes to those people?

It’s not.......the car will have to sell itself.

Good question John Parker! Based on the past, and my belief that the first orders are not going to be able to be accepted by GM in the September 15-October15 time, period, I think there would be almost no chance that folks will be able to do a build and price on 7.18.19 nor even in the next couple of weeks after that. However, I do expect that either during 7.18-7.21 window, there would be on www.GMfleetorderguide.com a list of all the options, so folks could see every wheel option, every seat option, etc. To get a view of what that site would look like, suggest going to that site and punching in now a 2019 Corvette.

On that site, click on 2019, then Ordering Info, then on the Chevy Bow tie on the top left, then on Corvette, and a massive amount of information will open up.
