POLL: C8 Reveal Colors

We had an earlier poll on the ME’S 7.18.19 reveal colors. Then however, we did not even have any suggestions of what those colors were, and thus we fielded a wide variety of potential reveal colors. However, Jalopnik’s leaked specs include the listed the below twelve colors. Again we do not yet know whether they were correct colors, but if so...

However, we have a challenge in that a forum poll only allows ten total vote categories, so two colors must be eliminated. I chose white and black as the “eliminated” colors as they are very rarely shown on an OEM new generation reveal.

On our honor system, please vote onlyfor two of them, for that is the number of Corvettes we have seen at most new Corvette reveals (and please do not double vote for one color if that is even possible). Thank you.

I think it will be Silver with Red seats.

Simon, well noted! Silver is an excellent reveal color, chosen by so many OEM’s because every panel angle change is exaggerated by it showing changes in metallic reflection, etc. I can see your silver car with its red seats on the reveal platform.

The fact that something like 6 or 7 of the Corvette prototypes have been in that color, is a further “vote” for one of the C8’s to be in silver.

No Torch Red option? That would be one of my expected colors.

Something I don't expect GM to do, but think it would great if they did, is a white car with wide blue stripes to honor Zora's original CERV.

My apologies, for i left out Torch Red. I just inserted it and to make things more even, as I have not yet voted yet, while I would not have voted for it, I will right now.

i see with my error fixed, that Torch Red quickly moved to # 1. With LBR now being second, e.g., the color red is kicking it.

I'm thinking that one will be orange because the colour really grabs your attention when it's on a sports car and the other will be silver because the colour is really good at showing the lines of a car.

I would sell a torch red for a loss if I ever won one, but I'd bet on one of them being red.

Interesting that while a C7 1.13.13 one was in Torch Red, as a generality reveals of new vehicles are not often in red due to the challenge of getting a red one to look great on everyone’s phone, computer screens, etc.

I too however, bet on a C8 to be revealed in red.

I wish GM would show off their new colors for the reveal. We all have a pretty good idea what Blade Silver or Torch Red will look like, but what about the Zeus Bronze or Accelerate Yellow. I hope they don't leave us hanging for months without seeing what those shades really look like on the C8's design.

Personally, I'm hoping Accelerate Yellow Metallic will be deeper and richer than Competition Yellow, more like the Sunbeam Yellow offered by MB for the AMG GT:

I will never forget shortly after the C7 came out going to a Vette Show and there were 14 new C7s. 9 of them were Torch Red . A lot od first time Corvette buyers. Keep in mind GM has to catch those first time buyers in the first year as the car will be basic to what seasoned Corvette owners may want,( MORE PERFORMANCE CHOICES) And, as a kid I there was no Corvette as a Red Corvette. There was never a song dedicated to any other color in a Corvette. I am placing my money on the reveal Corvette to be RED. To the novice looking in will say , this car reminds them of a Ferrari and to the Novice and first time buyer, it is RED. Whether you like red or not it is an attention getter and myself GM would be best served if on the 19th of July there is a Red Corvette blasted all over the covers of magazines the day after the reveal. Having been in promotional sales and advertising a Red Sports Car appeals to the masses. When I think of Ferrari, I think red. Hey Tom Selleck would not be Magnum in any other color. RED RED RED
