If the car is truly going to accept two golf bags, then offer us a custom set that will fit .....

There are some rumors floating around that an effective and proven golf bag design fix is already in the works...

Tom_E, whether two golfs bags will fit, is not yet known. I personally feel that two golf bags is optimistic, but based on what was shown last month in the McLaren 600 GT, I think one full sized set would be realistic and achievable.

I don't actually think there will be room for two bags BUT it there is, I believe it will be for a smaller bag and would be a good accessory opportunity for GM.

Seems like a natural product development for Callaway!

Great idea German, especially with the close tie between both companies.

I'm told two sets will fit. Cargo space was the primary hurdle the C8 team had to clear for ME approval and Juechter fully understands the need not to mess with a successful formula:

Why do you think Corvette has been able to stay around for so long when the rest of the domestic auto industry has struggled?

It’s staying true to the mission of the car. Corvette has had its moments where it almost died. I don’t want it to seem like we’ve had a free ride the whole way.

But if you look at other vehicles that are successful long term, they tend to stay true to their mission. They don’t try to wander off and be something they’re not. There are plenty of examples where cars tried to get bigger, or go from four passengers to two, or tried to migrate upmarket. They get cocky and think, “Wow, we could sell these things at a much higher price — let’s do an upscale version.” That doesn’t work. You have to stay true to what you are.

I still like the idea of one universal shaft with multiple interchangeable attachment heads for drivers, irons, and a separate dedicated putter. And if the shaft were telescoping, it would allow a set of golf clubs as an airline carry-on.
