Chevrolet just posted the second teaser video for the C8 Mid-Engine Corvette. Please make sure you read down through post # 9 and beyond, for we are seeing below pictures a very different hood, different grill and more.

As we count down to our 07.18.19 Corvette reveal, we want to rewind a bit and re-visit our teaser video. The original 29-second, chills-giving video has more than 60 years of mid-engine history and heritage hidden within its quick cuts. So, we created a second video to explain those references and Easter eggs, allowing more than just our superfans to follow along.

The Next Generation Corvette teaser video has more than 60 years of mid-engine history and heritage hidden within its 07.18.19 length. Check out this special extended version and get a detailed breakdown on what’s inside. Watch the full-length video:

It is clear that GM keeps reinforcing, in both teaser vids, that having a mid engine Corvette is at least 53+ years old, that going from a front engined Corvette to a mid engined one is far from a new idea.

Remember when there was a rumor the C8 was testing at VIR? While some of the shots are of the earliest, rather crude prototype this picture is definitely of a more recent version and that's definitely VIR...

Thank you NewYuriCity! I did not know that. From that picture, “What side scoop?”

For those wanting a quick link to the first GM teaser:

              https://www.midenginecorvetteforum.c...-video-is-here

And if you are wanting a complete list of all the official GM teaser steps so far:

Screen print found by the ever-everywhere (with thanks) to Corvette_Nut. What do you suppose that singular center stripe is? It did call to my attention a different front grille opening — and maybe that is the point of it, e.g., to more closely tease reveal what the real grille opening is going to be like.

The shape of the hood on the above car is a lot different than anything I have seen photographed so far. The shape is very similar to a C7 hood to me. There is no telling the lengths that they have gone to surprise us on what the final version looks like.
One thing that I am curious of did anybody else not get the email update from Chevy for this new teaser today.? I signed up but no email was in my email box.

This hood is drastically more sculptured than what we have seen before. Is this the new, true shape of the hood, with its deep diagonal side valleys? OR??? Looking at things in converse, are we seeing a power bulge in the center of the hood al la like the C7 ZR1’s power dome?

My thought is that's a much older test mule, not a more recent one, with those huge side scoops. Look at the sculpting on the door. Like the hood, that looks more like the C7 than what we've seen at the 'ring and since. Very possibly hand-laid fiberglass bodywork, just to be able to lay somethin over the early running gear.

No email notice to me either. I signed up the first day for updates.

That hoods look different, and since one can not subtract camo from the raw hood shape, maybe that is its raw shape, and since then to hide it they have added more camo into the valley.
