Rearview mirror full time video mode?

Picked up our new ride yesterday and we absolutely love it. The only thing my wife is complaining about is the lack of visibility with the Rearview mirror. She wants it to stay on full time video mode. When we drop the hard top, it doesn’t allow us to switch back to video and the video automatically turns off. Pulling the tab forward doesn’t bring the video back. Is there a setting or something I’m missing that allows you to just leave it on video mode the entire time?

The camera for the video mirror is located on the top so it isn't usable when the top is down.

Duh! Ok, yeah that makes total sense.

Actually, the camera is in full-time video mode. You just don't see it when the HTC top is down... it's dark in there!

No, when the top is down the camera turns off and reverts to a mirror. You should still flip the lever to mirror mode though, otherwise you will get a horrible double image. Ask me how I know, lol. I thought I would be really smart and just adjust the mirror to suit me while it was still in camera mode but with the top down, then I wouldn’t have to flip the switch (now THAT’S lazy). It took me a little while to figure out why I could hardly see out of the mirror, the double image was really bad.
