No quicker way to ruin a C8. So lucky and yet without done a modicum of smarts. Could have easily destroyed it, and the fact that it keep going and got out at the end is still no assurance that tomorrow or next week it would not be a total.
Z06 coming late this summer: Hypersonic Gray HTC, two tone blue interior, complete high wing/aero package. CCB’s, with every piece of visible carbon fiber available to us. Lifetime, annual contributors, and 24 year members of National Corvette Museum. Home is the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

"Stupid Is As Stupid Does." Hey! To each their own.... But this appears to be a total lack of respect and appreciation for the car.... Just my two bits....

That's about as stupid as stupid gets. A lot of times water will get ingested in to intake and the engine hydro-locks, which bends a rod or two.

            Can't fix stupid.

Giving him the benefit of the doubt (which he may not deserve), maybe he didn't realize it was so deep until it was too late for him to do anything but keep going.

Smart people never enter water unless they know exactly its max depth.

There will be a C8 up for sale somewhere soon after he cleans it up and gets it running, if it will run!....Water looks to be definitely up over the side air intakes!....

Wow... I thought I'd never see something this ridiculous. Amazing the engine didn't stall out and left him floating down stream.

Engine hydro-lock is the least of his concerns. As soon as that car shuts down it likely won't start again, and if it does today, it probably won't tomorrow. The BCM and all kinds of electronics are at floor level. That car is more than likely totaled.

That driver's "pucker factor" must have been through the roof.... and ya, that's a "total" loss. If it works tomorrow, it won't in a week or a month or... I'd love to know if he entered that flooded area or was trying to drive it from where it might have been parked in the flooded area. I realize "Corvettes" were boats and "StingRays" fish, but just no!

Just saw a clip on ABC News showing a C8 driving through deep water in Florida. More than half the car was submerge....hope he made it. 😰

No matter what happens to the car, I'm just amazed that it made it through such deep water without stalling in the middle.
