GM wants to give you both choices and do so separately; so it is simple, you choose your exterior color and your choose your seat type, i.e., so while you nicely get to make two major choices, GM only has to create/stock/install two different seats.

If instead seat headrest and rest of seats panel were based on exterior car color choice, you would make that one choice and that singular choice would force you into the seat matched with it. This way you get two major choices.

I'll need to see where I got that information as well, but the seat color is dependent on the type of seat...GT2 vs Comp. But even in the visualizer it shows GT2 and Comp seats are specific

I think that video is wrong and my initial statement that it is based on the seat type is correct. These two pictures confirm it is seat dependent.

It is primarily but as you can see not exclusively the head rest color that is the difference. GM will not have four different 70th Anniversary seat panel coloration panels. One for the GT seat and a different one for the Comp seat as per below.

Hey John, in the top pic it shows Momo seat belts in addition to the stock belts, do you happen to know how the Momo belts were attached? It does not look like there is a harness bar from what I can see anyway.

I cannot remember which videos of the NCM Bash I watched on YouTube , but that questioned was raised and the GM upholstery guy was called into answer that particular question on the seats for the 70th. The competition seats are white headrests and supporting pattern and the GT2 seats (shown above) have the black head rests. The color pattern for the seats is not dependent on exterior color.

Note that the answer by the other GM employee at 9:00 is incorrect but what Phil Zak said at 4:02, as you noted, is correct, It is seat dependent, nor exterior color dependent.

Those are Schroth belts, not Momo (not that it makes a difference for install).
