  • POLL: When Next C8 Teaser Video

Talking separately with several members yesterday, one subject came up in every conversation, i.e., when will GM release the 2nd C8 teaser video. So while we wait...

As background, here is the schedule/process GM employed for the C7’s pre-reveal teaser process. Ah yes, then the famous 1.13.13 reveal!

    https://www.midenginecorvetteforum.c...tease-progress

Going backwards, the C7 GM pre-reveal teaser videos occurred:

October 24, 2012 (82 days before the reveal)

December 5, 2012 (39 days before the reveal)

December 17 (27 days before the reveal)

January 3, 2013 (10 days before the reveal)

January 12 (the day before the reveal)

The first C8 teaser video was released on April 29th (80 days before the reveal).

If GM were to do things almost near-identically to the C7’s process, the next teaser video would not be until the week of June 10th. Boo, we can not wait that long — for that is not for another three weeks.

When do you think the next GM C8 teaser video would be released?

2nd [email protected] 500? There are 4,900,000 who watch the Indy 500 in the U.S. alone (live and tape-delayed); another 2,500,000 world wide viewers. If GM, I would pay for a 30 second ad spot to show its second pre-reveal C8 teaser vid during the race.

In which case, know how such things somehow get leaked in advance, could be we see it later this week.

Or maybe GM would not yet ready for us to see the second one then, but would re-run the first teaser video during the race?

I went with the Indy 500. It makes a lot of sense from a numbers perspective.

But I’d be quite happy to be wrong if it was released before that!

Undoubtedly, someone from GM marketing monitors this forum.

If we all say we are losing patience, and going shopping for Supras, they will release another teaser within 72 hours!

The cost of a TV ad during the Indy 500 Race must have been to high I guess for Chevy. Looks like John's last option on the pole is what Chevy is doing.
Following the C7 marketing playbook to the letter.

Gm does monitor the forums...they would be foolish not to.

i dont believe anything said on this or any other forum alters corporate plans...

yet they do read for enthusiast insights..

its an invaluable asset taken with the correct perspective.

good market research at their finger tips for heavy enthusiasts

                      and its free

The fact that we are impatient and excited, that builds up anticipation — which I am sure GM is happy with. I can not think of a second member of this forum who due to the C8 not being out as soon as they wished, bought something else (other than a discounted C7). Candidly, GM and every single OEM knows this, that at all times a potential customer can buy another’s product for sale before theirs is out. True of every single product ever made, e.g., cell phones, SLR camera, etc.

At the same time, how many might have bought a Supra or the new Lotus, yet once they saw anywhere the C8 excitement, maybe even the info/renderings here, and then decided, “I am going to wait until the C8 is revealed before I buy any sports car.” Re the later, I know three individuals who have been waiting for the 992 for a long time, and even though now they can submit an order for the 992, all three instead are “seriously considering a C8 and will not buy the 992 until at least C8 reveal day” (their words, though paraphrased a tiny amount).

GM is not going to do anything different based our fervent excitement for the C8.

John, keep in mind that the total readership of this forum and the one other that's pertinent, doesn't add up to 1% of the sales of the models in the past and likely to be the same in the future. Now, are these forums more watched then other activities that may influence GM? Perhaps!

Agree with you ltomn that we are minuscule part of the C8 buyers. Not suggesting that GM is watching nor listening to our thoughts, just my wondering what other forum members are thinking will be coming next?

I sure do not know what the content of the next teaser video is, nor when we would see it.
