Mclaren just released their new GT model. There’s some good photos and ideas on how team corvette is going to get space and luggage room many desire, specially the golf clubs!

While that set up in the Mclaren is a possibility, it would have to have a substantial barrier between the rear deck and the interior of the car to prevent items from becoming deadly projectiles on a sudden stop.

    The deck appears very high.

According to a private conversation between Tadge and I (which I expect he'll deny... that guy), the C8 Team decided to go with a proven approach to ensure adequate storage space for two sets of clubs... some might even refer to their elegant solution as RETRO...

Ai dont play golf and could personally care less but for my corvette brothers who do play golf...seems pretty slick that golf clubs will be designed in as an important aspect of cargo space ....

if the mclaren gt can manage golf bafs in the rear hatch of a rear mid engine vehicle than i have no doubt the c8 will as well..

if gm lands golf club bag space what other thing with the front engine corvette owners whine about to protect their decision to hang onto their beloved rides....for a few more years

i say if you are digging your existing corvette the new rear mid engine evolution revolution can be cool but not in your garage and thats ok...

i think the manual transmission thing is flipping a lot,of guys who own corvettes out ...

i love driving a manual yet the dct is just a technologicial masterpiece that if gm says we should have it..im good with trying it....

if you decide you dont like the dct ...you could always just selll teh car and buy some guys low mileage mint c7...

win win...you get to experience it and if you dont like it...just sell it and buy a corvette generation that offered a manual..

personally i think gm will offer a manual somewhere down the road...in the corvette....

otherwise we will see the 7 th gen camaro evolve into a ferrari portofino look alike with 2 plus 2 seating and a corvette c7 look just stretched a bit to squeeze in 2 plus 2 (tiny) seats along with the A10 or M7 transmission...

i think its two maybe 3 years tops once all c7 s are gone from dealer lots...

Mclaren has 570 liters of cargo space which is more than a ford focus or so says the video

just tie down those clubs so you dont get hit in the head if you stop short...lol

Looks hugely unsafe. Even if the clubs were facing the rear. Lots of weight coming at you just with a quick stop. It needs what they have on trucks, "front end protection device" aka "header board".

If the car detects an emergency brake application while loaded with golf clubs, the navigation system yells "FORE".

BTW, is that McLaren painted in Zeus Bronze???

I posted earlier that the Corvette could possibly use a similar approach, but the more I think about it, the more I think not. The C8 test cars we saw at the 'ring have very obvious venting along the sides of the rear window and behind the rear window. No need to vent a trunk, so it seems likely the engine is under there, not a luggage compartment.

The McLaren’s color sure is a beautiful one. I think it is however, at least two lighter shades than Zeus Bronze. I prefer the McLaren’s.

In the McLaren ads, they are claiming more storage space than a midsize sedan.
                      i would love that.
