Thank you. The NSX sure has been an economic failure. I have not seen more recent data, but the total number sold during the month of April this year was just 50 in the entire country.

When this car debuted in 1990 it floored Ferrari and Porsche. It was all they were at a fraction of the price. When it finally went on sale in 1990 it commanded a waiting list of 3 years to owning one. Back then it could boast room for two golf bags. Today it's not the same car and it's obsolete already.

I believe initial pricing sets the tone for the vehicle.

Struggling acura dealers ordered in loaded nsx vehicles bringing the msrp close to 200grand...

didge did the same thing with the new viper and dealer add ons were designed to recoup the 35 grand dodge charged the dealers to become vioer distributors..

vioer owners went in and offered msrp and the dealers promptly to,d those loyal viper owners to take a hike..

very few went back when sales floundered and dealers were stuck with vioers..

this course of action was promoted by dodge and fca itself modelling after ferraris sales success..

it didnt work for the vioer and it failed miserably for acura with the nsx..

i also believe the hybrid aspect and its added cost missed the mark with consumers...

mclaren is even offering a surprising 20 percent off quietly on its 570 model lineup from wjat ive heard at the last cars and coffee event two weeks ago..

i dont believe any of this has gone unnoticed by corvette marketing..

i believe we will be pleasantly surprised

yes the new model will come in more expensive than the msrp of the outgoing model but i believe basic content will be up..justifying the added cost to corvette enthusiasts everywhere...

        and the wallets will open.

The disasterous economic failure of the NSX, especially after 10+ years in its making, with its consequent staggering development costs, has definitively been noticed by GM.

I totally agree that GM will price the ME accordingly — to sell, sell, sell!

AMEN- I'm praying in the same church! With their MASSIVE FOLLOWING GM obviously has to make money, and if they offer a great product at a reasonable price the masses will surely respond. I believe the timing is right and probably why their ME was never produced before. I am excited for GM as this will be a game changer for sure. They realize they are going to sell beyond their expectations and the current market and economic conditions appear to be headed in the right direction and the money is there for most involved to spring for one of these incredible machines.

I'm afraid, gentlemen, that none of this changes the fact that when a company adds serious technology to it's product, the price goes up. Add into that the need to have at least some carbon on the rig and we're looking at a sizeable increase in base price.

Why dont we wait until pricing is announced before deciding placing the engine in the middle behind the driver instead of infront of tje driver actually costs more..

                if it does....it does...not a big deal...

but by all logic it should cost only a few grand more for the supplier based transaxle transmission instead of the torque torque tube supplier based manual transmission and in house torque convertor automatic...

all the rest to build is the same.

but since none if us know anything...

lets wait until gm officially announces pricing

what seriously advanced engineering are we discussing from front engine to rear mid engine?

why do we have to have some carbon on this “rig”

alfa has a carbon fiber chassis altogeher in its 4c and its got a dct and its not a volume piece at all and its not that expensive and sergio was a bit of pig when it comes to pricing

sure the dohc twin turbo v8 version will range from 90 grand to 180 grand....give or take a few...

                but the lt1 model?

i dont see it being that expensive.

Some carbon, more than hood or removable top?

I was looking to buy the new NSX, after a long test drive I was not very impressed. Good looking car, just no emotion to it. point and shoot. if one fell into the 80k range preowned I would buy it but at 130k after discount NO WAY.
