  • How Long Are The Shifts At Bowling Green?

How many hours do the workers work each day in Bowling Green? I am trying to figure out about when on Nov. 30th my car will be built? (I know I am nuts)!

Anyone have an idea? Two shifts, 9 hours each?

Each shift is eight hours and 30 minutes which eight hours is productive time -2, 15 minute breaks one in the first four hours and the second one in the second four hours. The hourly production rate is 11.6 units.

Of course some days productivity exceeds that level and some days because of mechanical issues or Covid parts supply shortages, it is less.

Understand but I should be able to narrow it down pretty close.

They don't get a lunch break in addition to those 2 15 minute breaks?

For sure. We do not want hungry people building our Corvettes. That takes the 8 1/2 hours of time for the morning shift from 6:12 AM to 2:42 PM, to 8 hours.

We have yet to get the exact time the 2nd shift starts (deep cleaning between the two of them). We have heard that the second shift starts at 3:42 — but not 100% confirmed.

so they don't take lunch, and there is no production overtime to make up for line stoppages?

Yes lunch; please see posts # 7 and #8 above this one. There is no overtime to mike up for line shortages. 99% of the time the line shortages are due to parts shortages, so having them stand around waiting for parts is not what they do.
