  • HELP NEEDED Please Bash MECF Booth

WE are going to have a MECF vendor booth at the BASH, for two purposes, to hang out and talk about Corvettes, and to hopefully have some more Corvette folks learn about, ideally join our forum.

We are going to have a free $50 or $75 drawing for all who visit our area, e.g., $50 if someone just wants to enter; however, upped to $75 if someone has chosen to register for the forum by the noon Saturday drawing.

We are looking for MECF volunteers to donate an hour or two to help staff our booth. You would be giving out our some forum business cards to those interested. Some who drop buy might not either know anything about our forum, some maybe not much about the C8. And when no one is visiting us, our area will be a place for us to hang out and have fun. We will have our vendor area set up this part of next Wednesday (exact time not yet determined), all day Thursday and day Friday and Saturday morning. We will have an 8’ table and a couple of chairs.

However, our booth’s featured attraction will be Brad’s 1966 Sunfire Yellow coupe. The booth will be located outside the Museum, pretty close to where this picture was taken.

Our Forum Flag 2’x4’ banner that FVS created will adorn Brad’s windshield

We might also have a couple of little nice things to display on the table.

So far the following members have volunteered to help staff our booth:

Jeremy Welborn (“jagamajajaran”), Brad, John, Keith (CorvetteBlogger), Stan Czerniak (“stevera2”).

We need more volunteers please, especially in the following time slots. Might you please consider signing up for one or more? Any more volunteers please, please? We especially need a person to help in the following two time slots; might you please be willing to sign up for any?

I read that subject line as "help bash the MECF booth."

      Wish I could be there.

That would be good. Hopefully we see you at the end of the caravan in August at the 25th NCM anniversary celebration, and hopefully they’ll be some C8’s without camo C8’s there then.

We wish you could be there with us. Next Bash hopefully, or better yet sooner than that, maybe we get to see you at the end of August’s National Corvette Caravan/25th Anniversary Celebration?

Thanks Brad66 for being the major force behind out MECF booth. Jeremy has a great picture that I will later insert here of Brad’s 2004 Z06 with our MECF Flag Banner on its windhsield.

Separately, we drew a winner Saturday afternoon from those who dropped by the booth and submitted their free raffle ticket. The winner’s name is Bill; he lives in Georgia. We will mail his $50 NCM Corvette store gift certificate to him tomorrow. BTW, he already decided that he was going to use that $50 to buy two of the $25 C8 raffle tickets. Pretty smart on his part.

I enjoyed manning our booth and talking with fellow Corvette enthusiasts about current and future generations. The C5 wasn't my first choice for our display vehicle but it worked out well.

Big thanks to John for setting this up and for working with the NCM staff to get us a canopy, table and chairs.

It was fun to personally meet some other MECF members at our booth, and also nice to meet others interested in the ME (some who have subsequently become MECF members.
