  • Nurburg lap times

Was watching a program with some car testing at spa and nurburg. An old Amazon prime program. So I decided to look up some recent times. C8 z51 7:29. Ferrari 488 on R rubber about 9 sec faster. 458 on street rubber 9 sec slower than c8. Lot of P car times but I can't tell them appart some with a single seat. S-u-r-e..

It will be very interesting to see what the Z06 can produce in the way of a Nurburgring lap time. But first…..THE REVEAL!
    Black over Sky Cool Gray.....2LT.....Z51.....FE4.....E60.....

Ferrari 458 on street tires 9 seconds slower tells the story.

The 458 was introduced in 2009,and was running on 2009 Era tires. Hardly a reasonable comparison to a 2020 car on the latest rubber.

Nine seconds is nine seconds. But besides the lap time check the zero to sixty times. The stingrays an impressive accomplishment. Love the italian brands style and design. That said the attributes of the stingray are undeniable,

the corvette team has gathered the attention of the automotive world in a way that transcends even previous corvette generations,

would be fun to hear how many new corvettes are sold to ferrari owners ..with a c8 no one has to worry about driving and enjoying their cars because of massive driving related depreciation.

just drive the cars and enjoy! Most ferrari owners..not all are hesitant to pile on the miles..

No question the Stingray's are impressive. But wouldn't you expect improvement over a decade or more? The 488 is way faster than the 458, and newer Ferraris faster still. Comparing any car to one a decade older doesn't really prove a lot. Just putting the latest Michelin rubber on a 456 would probably shave 3 to 5 seconds off the lap time.

The ferrari 458 was in production in 2015. Thats hardly a decade ...

if exceeding the performance of that Ferrari isnt a remarkable achievement then i dont know what would be.

i love the ferrari 458 and quite frankly said to myself when thinking about purchasing a rumored c8 back in 2019 “if only the c8 could come close to the iconic 200 or 300 grand Ferrari 458 id be very pleased to purchase a new corvette. (Naturally aspirated v8 to naturally aspirated v8)

i dont mean to give anyone a hard time yet lets remember realities.

yes the ferrari 488 is an even better update to ferraris rear mid engine “affordable” $300,000 sports car. And supposedly the f8 and now the 296 v6 twin turbo hybrid is again even better...but all these including the 458 even preowned offer aspects of ownership not really comparable to the c8...

ring time announcements on the c8 seem to be doubtful yet everyone is presold for quite some time.

we will have to settle (as car enthusiasts) for car and drivers VIR I guess

to ramble on about come the car and driver vir test

always fun to shoot the breeze.

will the upcoming z06 outpace the gt3 and or ferrari rear mid engine sports car of choice? Or just sound really good as it tries to?

im wondering if the e ray will be the one to go down in the history books?

We are in for many months of fun discussions.

Should be worth a few good laughs

omg the Z06 fanatics will be going beserk with the E ray owners...lol

and stingray owners wont be far behind

battle royale and thats even before we discuss the comparision to exotics or german porsches...as quintessential sports cars
