Yeah NOPE! They been building ME for years and it’s not easy to make them look that different from when camouflage.

We will see the revealed version of this new McLaren designed for touring version next month. Following from same above link thanks to Top Gear. If only I had $300,000...

A driver-focussed, luxury McLaren GT that'll be 'the best in its class' is coming

Fancy a mid-engined supercar but want more practicality and luxury? Fancy a front-engined GT but want a better drive and less weight? McLaren reckons you might well do, and will soon have you covered.

A new McLaren GT is coming. It’s not a replacement for any of the supercars, but a more practical and luxurious addition.

There’s no announcement of the name yet, but it will be unveiled in early summer. McLaren CEO Mike Flewitt told TopGear.com it’ll have a V8 similar to the 720S’s, and a carbonfibre tub. Drastically quick then. He claims: “As you’d expect from us it’ll be the best driver’s car in its class”.

That class? He mentions the Continental GT, but his machine will be far lighter: “easily under” 1,500kg. That makes it a very different sort of car. “When you drive it I guarantee you won’t wish the engine was in the front. It’s not a cut-down saloon car.”

The new tourer’s cabin materials will be a lot plusher than usual from McLaren. “We haven’t chased out the last 5kg from the cabin”, he says.

Into your active sports? The rear boot will take skis and a golf bag both at once, and there’s a front boot too.

It’s a bit of a departure for McLaren – maybe even more than the Speedtail. But then, look what other sports-car makers are doing. It’s not an off-roader after all. “An SUV would be far removed from our world. But we’re going with our technology into a road-focussed luxury category.”

Although it uses McLaren’s usual expertise, about 70 per cent of the parts will be new. That includes every body panel. But at the moment all we have is this lumpy disguised prototype shot. Sorry.

More likely that there are only limited ways to package two passengers, a rear mid-engine, and some storage space in an attractive overall shape, so all ME GTs end up with very similar proportions.
Delivered 5/29!: Scarlet Fever 2021 2LT HTC, Red Mist Metallic Tintcoat, two-tone Naturalw/ suede inserts, Mag Ride, Performance Exhaust, MRR 755 Gunmetal wheels

However, only one will look like a Corvette, and also be priced very, very, very reasonably.

Good company ...ask any non enthusiasts and mclarens, lamboghinis, ferraris and the upcoming corvette would all be comsidered ferraris at first guess.

to enthusiasts ...the nose, the rear and eventually as we see the side view all uncovered etc we will also be able to tell its a corvette.

This is how GM should have done the back and the light.

Agreed. Especially the exhaust tips. Other companies make them look like “jewelry” as Tadge would say. Like an integral part of the rear of the car. GM makes them look like an afterthought.
Doesnt seem like rocket science or terribly expensive engineering to do a better job on the exhaust.

I didn't say "GM Should have COPIED this design". Take ideas is not the same as copying.

That's an awfully fine line to assume people could decipher what you meant, but ok Regardless, 4 round tail lights for me lol If they can do it and make it look good.

No argument there. Still, I'd take one of each if someone offered.

There could be some reason why GM did not choose to do that (unknown to us at this time).

McLaren with its Bubbles and tear drop cues are not Corvette design features. Having said that please no more hard edge squared off rear end either. Something softer please..... IMO
