  • Your Chosen ME Specs

What are you thinking today would be your ME’s specs?

Now that we might have some of the 2020 ME’s specs, at least if what NBVette4U shared is the real deal, I have been having fun choosing the specs for my 2020 C8.

However, the spec sheets are typically longer than what we were shown, so IMO there are still many more for us to later determine. But based on what we think we know today, below would be mine. However, I have not listed some components that are probably standard or those I think could be contained within a “overriding major option.”

Doesnt the z51 fe4 include npp (exhaust)TOA (spoiler)j55? (Heavy duty brake package) Or do we have to order each item separately?

for years the z51 package included these items you listed seperately at least with the c7.

Surprised the NPP remains an option. Don't think I've ever seen a C7 without it.

Q: Have any of the spy photos shown the NPP? The ones I've seen don't seem to have the chrome tips.

The 2017 Z51 comes with NPP exhaust. The 2014 didn’t that why the Z51 Seemed like a bargain back then.

Many things I separately listed for mine will be part of other packages, but of course we do not know which. For example, I am betting that the bolstered seats would standard on 3LT, and could well be standard if one gets a 2LT. I also think that we could have many of the safety enhancements would be on the base car, with perhaps one or two in higher trim packages. We do not know at this time.

I've gotten accustomed to the Z51 and the 3LT interior on my C7, so I'd stick with whatever that option package includes. Hopefully NPP/MRC/HP tires/Brake upgrade/etc. will be a part of it, if not, I'll start down the option list. So many things to consider. I've not ordered a "new" car in quite a while. Maybe I'll wimp out, and just buy a 2020 from one of our forum members next year

Biggest Option for me would be the MOST POWER. I think I have "talked myself" into Torch Red for the first time ever and want to get a clear and a black top. Might do some pin striping and/or black hood embellishment to go with the red for contrast. ( I want the car shiny red and shiny black inside and out including engine coverings, Cockpit included )
I would like my tires and rims to be ALL BLACK preferably shiny and painted black rims, if available with contrasted RED calipers also.

One final comment if someone here has heard/knows about the transmission. My 7L Nitrous Z06 had ZERO tranny issues ( Of course I went thru a few clutches until I got the sweet setup with linelocks )
HOWEVER I have heard the Tremec is only rated to 664 ft lbs of torque ?? Is this true ??

Naturally wanting POWER and most likely tweaking it too I would want the transmission capable of Taking The Load I will be imposing.

If anyone knows about painted Black rims and transmission Upper Torque limits ... even speculating ... that input would be much apprreciated TIA
........ I have heard the twin turbo version will be putting out 855 HP in the stock version and I should be cranking out nearer to 1000 rwHP and consequent 900 rwTq after some well thought and tested tweakings

Tremec's 7-speed in-line FE/RWD DCT is indeed rated for 664 lb-ft of torque, but that is not the Tremec destined for the C8. Tremec has developed another DCT in transaxle form with 8 speeds for which we do not know any specs, but it's likely there will be at least two versions, one for the lower torque of the base and possibly the ZO6, and one for the V8TT 850hp beast.

Exciting ME you will be getting! electroVette has answered the key issue re the DCT. Additionally, GM’s policy is to use a trans that is rated higher than the max output of the motor for “margin of safety.” For the Z06 for example, both trans used were rated at 12% more than the Z06’s torque level.

As to caliper colors. We believe that there will be two different red calipers for the 2020 ME, the regular red which matches very nicely to Torch Red and a rumored new one called Edge Red that should match up with the darker ME red exterior color.

On my Lemans Blue Z06 I jacked up the car and painted the calipers Lemans Blue from the Chevy dealer then I had everything else polished aluminum rims et al, shiny as contrast.

Any idea if the standard rims will be painted black ? I hope so...I guess, if not, I can get them painted TIA

We have seen some of the alleged, leaked C8 specs and they show six wheels. Could be more on the expected additional 2020 spec pages later.

                          https://www.midenginecorvetteforum.c...-wheel-choices

None of the C8 wheels we have yet seen has shown an all black wheel (including its rim), e.g., only seen these two, but even the current Camaro has 21 different wheel options, so there would wheel be more wheels, more wheels later, or different finishes to the two wheels we have so far seen.

Does anyone know if Morello Red is the same as in 2013 Cadillacs? http://gtcarlot.com/data/Cadillac/AT...-77305440.html

We believe it is the same as was in the 2017 and 2018 Cadillac ATS-V and CTS-V Special Editions, such as the picture.
