I like that rendering pretty darn well. If the price is as estimated I might think about it seriously. Will wait a year or two though as I’ve had too many problems with our C7 and would want to see if they got their quality control improved.

Wow, I'm Definitely IN ! Was leaning more toward a Deeper Red , like a Black Cherry or Black Rose, But was figuring around the $100K mark loaded up . SWEET !

FVS's renderings are based on more research and are closer IMO.

What is this mag's track record on that score?

I DO like the $60k base price

I too feel that the renderings of fvs are much closer. He is a rare combination of an artist who not only does industrial products for a living, but personally chooses to work in several art media as his hobby. Couple that with his passion for the Corvette and his CAD and related skills, that is why I too believe his work is more accurate by far.

Too many of the other media renderings seem to me, to have their artists do one part of the car, then just for the rest, borrow too heavily from, and incorporate the C7’s attributes.

I also like the pricing from Automobile, but think it could be a little too optimistic (hope I am wrong).

They'll lose money on each one but make up for it in volume (need that drum roll emoji)

Seriously, the big 3 just had a bad week with their forecasts and stock prices. GM would love to have buzz around a made in America success story. (Others too but we don't want to go there).

Seems very unlikely, to me, the rear end will look that much like the C7s. And it doesn't match the photos of the rear fascia smuggled out of the factory. You'd think if an artist is getting paid to do renders they would at least do some research first and find out what's already been published and what facts exist.

Looks different than other renders. I don't think the tail is that long.

I was just asked “what’s with it being called the Y2C8?”

The Y2 has been GM’s name for the different chassis of the ME (with Y1 being the FE C7’s. While many believe, as “Skank” originally predicted, that the center cockpit/cabin of the Me will have a fair amount of chassis carryover parts from the C7, clearly the front 1/3 of the ME’s chassis, as well as it rear 1/3 will have major differences.

He’s another thread with more info about the Y2 chassis/motors — though that was written before the ZR1 and the ME got postponed one year (so its dates are one year optimistic).

I agree with the bolded above. And I prefer FVS' renderings too... hope FVS' version is closer to the real thing than any of the other renderings I've seen

The FVS version gives the body lines a more athletic stance with a pinched waist line. It presents a posture with animation and motion, like a Puma coiled and ready to pounce.

I agree that FVS has the most accurate renderings derived from the two photos of the front and rear fascia's taken inside Bowling Green during the transition. Zerv's leaks have also given us a massive amount of direction. I've talked to a person that understands the manufacturing of the front and rear fascia die's. They are incredibly expensive to cast than machine and polish to a mirror finish required for the injection moulding process. I can see only one front fascia die but there has been rumors of two body configurations which would require two die's for the rear fascia's. A regular rear end and a wide body rear end for that beautiful fat backside that most people will see! None of the magazines are as close as FVS. Here is Omega's leaked Fascia die's of the C7 generation that shows those incredibly expensive retractable die's.

Posted/written like the excellent photographer you are. Maybe it would be called a “Puma,” even have a special name at all. Maybe a “Corvette without a special moniker like the “Stingray?”

I also have read a post by C7pimp, in which he talked about the rising rake to the rear. He even compared it to this older Aston Martin ME concept. We do see a definite rake to the car that brings forth excitement.
