  • 1st 2022 Allocations Given To Dealers

Developing story! Wonderful news that this dealer, Weber Chevrolet, got more 2022 allocations than he was thinking. This is wonderful news and thanks/credit to [email protected]!

Ron also confirmed that next Thursday (the 29th) they officially go in for the for DOSP process which nicely will result in those 2022 allocations becoming 2000 status within a the few days thereafter.

Thank you Ron for breaking this positive news to the first 2022 customers!

Yes Weber got more than they were thinking. We are calling around and however another dealer however got less than he was thinking and the timetable for them needs more fleshing out.

DOSP is dealer order submitted processs, the one week period when dealers take their actual allocations, matched with their highest priority orders, going into to GM for actual acceptance (status 2000). Status 2000 is the critical GM acceptance of that specific order with those specific options for that specific customer. It is GOLD!

More GOOD 2022 news. That [email protected] got in an separate memo information that his allocations were to be produced by the TPW week ending October 1st.

So putting these two things together that they got more than they expected and that GM expects to complete them by October 1st (the Sept 27th production week’s end), that means to me that GM is very confident that they are going to first complete all their 2021’s at they indicated (with our nationally not seeing a single TPW later than September 6th at this time), and could it also mean that they might be starting 2022’s that same Sept 6th production week. Looking really good!

Even more good 2022 news, that there are no constraints listed in GM’s Fleet Order Guide for the 2022’s.

It would appear that death by a thousand cuts may be coming to an end. Here's hoping that Criswell got more allocations than expected and that my number is in that first allocation. As always, time will tell.

We are getting a pattern that while Weber got more than they expected, that that is not true nationally — and some top dealers got less than they expected. The reason could well be that these allocations are for a short time period (production expected to be completed by Oct 1st).

Could it also have something to do with the new ADS allocation method?

On the above discussion mentioning your thoughts on timing of the 2022 MY production start, this does all bode well, and if you couple that with how many people on this forum alone have been told their TPW for 2021 MY has moved up a week I think we're definitely going to see the 2022s rolling soon!
