  • What Will We See At Z06’s Reveal?

We just started discussing the Z06’s reveal color possibilities on another thread. I will bring those posts over here (and delete them on the other thread). Might one of the reveal Z06’s echo the color of either the Accelerate Yellow or Hypersonic Gray of the C8.R’s — for what better tie to the Z06’s track capabilities?

Picture credit to GM Authority — though nicely photoshopped, i.e., thanks Ace for removing the C8.R really high wing.

But what about the Z06(s) they will have at the reveal, e.g, not their colors but other things ? Are we thinking they would show us two different ones, such as the entry one without much of a spoiler nor large aero components, and yet separately have a second Z07 version there too, with its expected big wing, more and larger aero parts (maybe even front fender canards)?

We also have an active thread of whether the Z06 HTC would be revealed at the same time as this fall’s Z06 coupe reveal?

Linked here in a minute; please stand by.

Coupling all of these questions today, what are you thinking would be the Z06(s) see sometime in the next 153 days somewhere at its reveal?

Someone posted that they saw that the car in the video was Hypersonic Gray. I have looked at the video many, many times (as I know you all have) and can not see that. Can you? If so would you please post a screen capture? Thank you.

There is no body of the Z06 visible in the videos, where does this come from?

That was my thinking but this person (elsewhere) was sure it was Hypersonic Gray and then went on to say that as result the reveal car would be that color.

I've also seen that mentioned and was hoping others on here might have insight on what they would have been referencing.
Put deposit down for 2020 C8 in July 2019, gave up my allocation to wait for the Z06, plan on getting Hypersonic Gray HTC

Maybe he saw the C8.R? 😅
I don't think Hypersonic Gray would be great showcase color, most high performance vehicles are shown in bright colors that stand out. Rapid Blue would be a popular color for that choice. Or they could showcase the Z06 in a new 2023 or an Z06 exclusive color.

I would eliminate the 2023 colors as a consideration as they will want to save that reveal until probably the April, 2022 Bash event when they typically reveal the new colors. But even ore than tradition, there have yet to complete the 2022 production color verifications for all three new 2022 colors (though a birdie whispered at least one was done); they will not start color production verification process until at least next Spring.

But might they show the 2023 in a new 2022 color such as Amplify Orange, and couple it with a repeat Rapid Blue for a second one?

I am not getting a Z06 but trying to imagine what it will look like at the wide bodied version to the Stingray?

A long, long time ago, even before the StingRay’s reveal, a little birdie whispered that the scoops on the Z06 were 5/8” wider each side. Then we saw the C8.R’s boomerangs being a different shape. So trying to see in my mind if those two things are correct how it would look like from front quarter/side view perspective.

Red white and blue would be a nice trio of z06 s at its reveal.
                    Should be exciting

Bigger openings, more similar to C8.R, wider tires on all 4 corners, less wheel gap at the fenders, an absolute banshee wail when the exhaust is in track mode ("Crank it up" and "Volume" being the two themes of the recent tease), and an overall more aggressive look through any means necessary.

                      Can't wait to see it!
On Order: 2LT Coupe, Z51, Elkhart Lake Blue, GT2 seats, Edge Red Calipers, Mag Ride, Front Lift, High Wing spoiler, R8C museum delivery.

                      2000 status 5/1, 3000 on 5/4

I was originally thinking they might have 2 coupes at the reveal (I truly believe that the HTC will not be available at the same time as the coupe). 1 in yellow and 1 in hypersonic gray, then they'd drive out the C8.R's as well to show how similar they are to each other, but they kind of already did that with the IMSA special editions for 2022.

Now I think the C8 Z06 reveal will be a single coupe in amplify orange, since it will have the most pop, and because they used yellow for the C7 Z06 reveal.

Well! What will be the scale? How big a deal? How much time. GM staff present?. Guest? Venue? Information and disclosure?

The planned time span between the reveal and production start will determine much of what we see, the level of specifics and detail. Unless they plan a [doubtful] second later follow-up reveal part 2, then we the full dope. And including a time table to production.

They will beam at all the testing achieved without our notice, under our noses. How they did it all without getting caught. Unlike the Ford GT people who revealed only the design and then spent 3 years testing and refining. The whole thing will be ready to go. Physical cars. videos. testimonial. will prove it.
They will certainly not tell us that they do not know anything. Nor that more needs to be determined. They will not say they have not tested out their car. They will say that the Z06 is done. Then say, "go Inventory your piggy banks and meet my dealer behind the wood pile January 2, 2022."

May have one at the reveal like the C8R

I'd LIKE to see a couple versions in different colors... if they've got 1,2,3 versions of this thing coming, they should showcase them to say "the new Z06 will be here for whatever you want it to be.... " and show a base car with the widebody and better brakes/wheels, a mid-level car with more aero and more track focus or maybe more a grand tourer, and then the Z07 package car that is the "racecar for the street". Then have THAT next to the new GTD car that will be run in 2023 along side it.
