  • IHS study states Rear Mid Engine Market will grow 40% by 2023 so aston

Aston Martin last year quoted figures from IHS Markit showing the mid-engine supercar market is expected to grow by 40 percent between 2018 and 2023. Aston Martin’s predictions for the car are modest given Ferrari sells around 5,000 a year of the 488, the car the F8 replaces, Max Warburton, an analyst at Bernstein bank, wrote in a report published earlier this year.

He predicted Aston will sell a cheaper version at around 150,000-200,000 pounds and a higher end model priced between 250,000-300,000 pounds, but noted most of the sector growth was coming at the lower priced end. “The number of High Net Worth Individuals [HNWIs] is growing, but in most places they are getting older, and don't want to (or aren't able to) sit low in a loud sports car,” he said.

Fwiw looking at the photos from geneva the rear spoiler is attractive but the concepts front spoiler splitter is ridiculous.

Used to be a big fan of AM cars and styling back in the day. The current crop, not so much. They seem to have lost the plot somewhere. Recent cars are bulbous and over styled IMO. Like the paint on this tho
As for the increase in mid-engined cars - well Corvette going ME could make that change all by itself

You don’t lie about the front splitter, ugh not attractive. Not real thrilled about the car as a whole.

Corvettes historically average 40% of the sports car market segment by sales. With the 2020 Corvette being a mid engine, that alone will support this trend.

I thought the same thing...IHS isnt crackong the code...its just stating the obvious...but when the obvious occurs IHS will toot its horn stating they were insightful of the popularity growth to 40 percent of the sports car market growing to rear mid engine..

made me chuckle as I read the article so I thought Id share it with you guys.

as far as aston martins design of a rear mid engine sports car shown...im not really a fan of it in photos either..

i did prefer the ducktail rear spoiler compared to what we have seen on the c8 prototypes...

just shooting the breeze and hopeful we are not forced when buying a z51 type package that we have to get the spoiler show on some of the c8 prototypes...

if we do...its not a deal killer but its not prefered...

I dont need downforce that badly...im pretty well grounded on my own...

i do like heavy duty suspension, brakes and cooling though ..

ive always felt those parts contributed to my driving enjoyment a little bit and I always felt it contributed to the vehicles robust nature.
