ID:	28260 This concept car looks very close to the C8. Ex GM designer had a hand in this. One person over at the Corvette Forum who has seen the C8 says there are a lot of similarities. Can’t quote his exact words on here. Maybe the C8 has been right under our noses.

A new American supercar? Aria says it will deliver a 1,150-horsepower beast in 2019

        Eric D. Lawrence, Detroit Free Press Published 7:00 a.m. ET Dec. 1, 2017 | Updated 3:43 p.m. ET Dec. 1, 2017

The Aria FXE concept sports car is displayed at the 2017 LA Auto Show in Los Angeles on November 30, 2017.

Aria has built high-end concept cars for automakers such as Tesla, so the Irvine, Calif.-based company expects it can manage delivery of an American supercar in the next two years.

The Aria FXE is making an appearance at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show, and if the concept makes it to the road as planned, watch out. The 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 four-wheel drive hybrid engine is slated to deliver 1,150 horsepower and 1,316 pound-feet of torque, hitting 0 to 60 in 2.7 seconds and a top speed of 210 m.p.h.

"It's inspired by track-oriented cars (but) it's made for the road," said Nicholas David, Aria's design director, who puts the planned Aria models in the rarefied company of the Ferrari LaFerrari and McLaren P1,

The price tag? Try more than $650,000 for the base FE and higher for the FXE. David said Aria is considering making the two-seaters available through leasing when they are launched in 2019.

"We've learned that regardless of how wealthy you are, (you'd) actually prefer to lease the car," David said.

The company showed off its FE concept at the Los Angeles Auto Show last year and was inspired by the feedback to bring the vehicle to production. Aria, which has about 100 employees, plans to build the cars at its Irvine plant.

David offered a few other notes about the FX and FXE, both of which will feature a carbon fiber exterior. The vehicles will have a "very American stance," with the cab sitting in the middle of the car, giving it more of a relaxed look than some European offerings.

Each car will be fully customizable, with the seats "sculpted" to the individual and a steering wheel and pedals that move toward him or her. David noted that the form of the car is key, not the lights and not the grille.

Take this picture and add some Chaz magic and it could be a pretty good idea of what the C8 might look like

One thing that doesn't remind you of the C8 is the pricetag!!

Predict ME is around $70K to start. I know that many disagree, but even our last forum poll averaged a starting price estimate of $82,500.

Moblus, you are on the mark. And I think They all tip their hat to their daddy, the ME Ferraris. That's the plain fact. That parentage, to my eye, is emblazoned in the silence whenever it is not said. The Aria has Pista all over it, even if born first they both look like the special release Ferraris.

As you'd expect, the new Ferrari 488 owes much of its upgraded performance to the company's motorsport know-how; it makes great play of its five manufacturer titles, 29 race wins and 25 years of one-make racing all lending a hand in the creation of the 488 Pista. From the 488 GTE to the 488 Challenge, the Pista has a rich DNA of racing heritage.

The new Ferrari will star at the 2018 Geneva motor show. Check out our full show preview here.

Tha prototype C8R race car sounds like it could be a Ferrari. What engine type might they be using in it? What ever it is GM will have to produce street issue C8s with that engine if they race it. What will that one cost? Will they need to sell so many of the street versions with that screaming engine before they may race it? Well. Want one of them.

Maybe the early Lambo is the biggest influencer of the C8, truth be told. Perhaps Lamborghini need to look to its past and influence itself. Except for the rear air intakes the Miura is every modern ME. The more the C8 looks like the Miura the more handsome. The Ford GT has Miura proportion in the front overhang and position of the driver and windscreen relative to the front, that is, a little less cabin forward looking.

the Dino 206 GT gave way to its successor the 246 GT during 1969,

The early Ferrari ME was cool, but the the Lambo Miura was the design star.

I think that maybe the Miura sets the look of the modern ME, including the modern Ferrari ME. Over time the Lambo got carried away with extroversion. But the C8 ME design will hopefully always remember the Miura.

agree on the Miura Sheepdog, that has always been one of my favorites. The new Lamborghinis are waaay to angular for me. That is why I hope Chaz and FVS have hit the mark with their renders. Angular yes, but not so harsh looking ... fingers crossed
