This is a ridiculous review. The Caymen’s handling is “skittish,” its interior nowhere not as good as the Corvette’s, and the Cayman’s “flinty ride and buzzy highway drone fatigued us early.”

The Corvette was faster and $15,000 cheaper and yet they rate the Porsche higher.

I have to agree with John. Why would anyone buy a 718 Porsche and spend $15,000 more than a C8. The C8 is going to put a real hamper on Porsche sales. Porsche was scrambling to sell 5000 to 6000 718s in the US prior to the C8 launch. When the C8 frenzy dies down and these cars are in show rooms for sale Porsche will be done. I like Porsches and I have had a few. But, why would I want one now?? Why would anyone want one now. ?? One is a supercar and one is not. One looks like a supercar and one looks like a everyday sports car.

So typical of Motortrend. I don't think they've ever met a Porsche they don't find "wonderful". I'm biased of course, but a Cayman is the winner? They must have had Bratwursts and beer ready for the voting

I have a 718 GTS boxster and my C8 is waiting to ship out soon. Will have both for a while so I will post a comparison. I have owned several Porsches and they are great cars, but a bit expensive. I also find that the automags seem biased toward Porsche. I just always seems to be the "safe thing" to say "car xxx is really good, but Porsche is still the standard".

The reality is that most people don't believe what they see, they see what they believe. I think that applies with Porsche reviews.
