C7/C8 Similarities: Rear Quarter Hatch, Deck and Small Side Window

Do you see some similarities here between the C7 and the C8 in terms of their flat/horizontal rear quarter panel surface, then that departing into the vertical side rise up the side of the hatch, and also including a flat center deck surface on both? Even the rear part of the small window behind the B pillar has the same shape.

Or am I seeing things when I am seeing a Corvette family resemblance in this part of them?

They are family-related IMO, and as Hwasup Lee who penned the initial C7 sketch above has been working with the Corvette team as late as the ZR1’s design, we believe (but am not positive), that he also was part the ME’s design team. We will learn for sure at the reveal or right afterwards.

Based on the camo'd test cars, I don't think that's going to be a concern.

I agree and do think the resemblence is there purposely. Wishful thinking maybe, but hope so!!
