A definition of a mule for a brand new vehicle is one which “provides proof of concept.” (Or proves that concept to be a failure.) Clearly, from what we now know, the below mule proved the mid engine C8 Corvette to be a viable option.

We thank Tool Hoarder for this wonderful four year old memory.

And thank Road & Track for this memorable article.

It's unreal, yet totally real, and it's happening.

This is the mid-engine Corvette that all of you called BS on when that that story broke back in October.

Well, it's obviously not the final car, but it's officially our favorite cobbled-together test mule ever—C7 passenger cell, with flared-out Holden ute bodywork around it. Why make the mule a Vetteamino? Well, that engine's got to go someplace.

Car and Driver has a mountain of additional spy shots, so you should go there right now.

I remember that, but I'm not sure that's the C7 passenger cell, as they describe. The windshield doesn't seem raked steeply enough.
