  • Summer C8 Reveal Probability Growing

ME reveal timing... As we have approached so many possible C8 reveal events, we have had a pattern of rumors flying, but then later when the event started without the ME was there, it become a pattern of “rumors fly becomes rumors die.”

Recounting those past possible C8 reveal location events which all became a failure.

    *Peddle Beach
    *Laguna Seca
    *SEMA
    *LA Auto Show
    *NAIAS
    * Chicago Auto Show

Now we hear rumors of two more reveal possibilities within the next month, Amelia Island and Geneva. However, a C8 reveal at either event will not happen.

It is also getting to be more and more likely that the next two possibles after that, NYAS and the BASH, could also become no shows. While I am still keeping my NYAS press pass and my NYC hotel reservations, that light has become a little dimmer.

If GM Authority is correct, and they do have an excellent C8 predictive track record as of late, could we conceptualize the May 26th Indy 500 event as a summer activity? Or how about this roughly June 1st reveal possibility less than a week afterwards?

    https://www.midenginecorvetteforum.c...ne-possibility

However, does either of those count as a summer event?

However, there is light at the end of the tunnel this summer. We just need to be patient grasshoppers.

    Happiness is ahead!

Anywhere in the US at whatever time is ok with me but I think Geneva or anywhere outside the country would be terrible.

Oh! NYAS won the recent poll as the reveal. April's still a while off. Maybe the light will burn brighter.

Don't think bikes are allowed. I ran the perimeter road a coupla times. No bikes. Didn't check greens fees.

The NYAS feels a little too close given the degree of camo we are still seeing on the mules. I'm going to get a press pass, flight and hotel though just in case.

There's almost zero chance GM will reveal the Corvette outside the US. That's just a ridiculous notion. The primary market for this car is and always has been stateside.

The Indy 500 is a possibility, but there's a LOT of noise around an event like that and Chevy would have to spend bucketloads of money to outspend all the advertisers there to really get noticed and compete with the actual race.

I still think a standalone event, Pebble Beach or the LA Auto show are the best possibilities right now. A standalone event gives them the most bang for the buck PR wise and they can choose a date where they don't have to compete with the noise of another event.

I was joking about "Peddle" (pedal) instead of Pebble:

Having been to the Indianapolis 500 when it was 105°, I classify the Indy 500 as a summer event.
