    I tried using ACC on a rental car and was not to happy with it. If I had the ability to turn it off and use just CC it wouldn't be a problem . I wouldn't buy the option unless it was unavoidable. I use CC all of the time even on local roads doing 30-40 mph.

      My wife’s Equinox has the camera based AEB. It works well in most conditions. It does not work well in low visibility conditions as one would expect. The MMW radar based solutions work very well in that they measure range and closure rate to an obstacle very well. The best systems combine radar and camera. The camera does target recognition and the radar does ranging. These systems should be on the front and back of every car IMHO.
